Not really, we simply don't want that sort raising idiots who will then wish to run for politics.

Put enough of them together and they may not take no for an answer. And I certainly do not consider myself perfect by any means. I'm just a human, trying to live life as a good example to society, and not assume whatever I do doesnt influence anyone else...

I honest pitty you. You don't seem to have a hopeful eternity, as of yet... And much worse --- you don't seem to care in the least.

At least I'm not a liar. You might not like what I have to say, but I do give my honest opinion and have a belief system to back it up. I also have a deep concern for society at large and not just my own wants and supposed needs.

If I could interrupt this conversation just for a second... :)

Little Nipper, are you concerned that the gay community will have some kind of disastrously negative political effect?

I'm not asking so that I may blast you for your answer. I ask because I'm curious.

I really don't see how promoting hetero sexuality which can only perform sexual acts if it is toward breeding, when you yourself are unable to do so....(ie being a hypocrit) is a good thing.

Put enough of them together? one dreads to think what that means.

:flirt: Your God is dead, and no once cares, if there is a hell...I'll see you there...lil nip

add that to the fact he doesnt' believe in evolution

:sarcastic are you getting a picture?
lil nip is one of the board's resident cuddly wuddly irrational homophobes

So who do you believe here is lying? Everyone has a belief system to back themselves up, why do you think yours is superior? I have a deep concern for society too, but I do not want to see it run by people with an agenda to take away the rights of others. Homosexuality, their right to marry, is not a threat to anyone and therefore should be a non-issue in all other segments of society. You are not affected by it unless you are a homosexual. I do not want people in government that cannot honor a secular way of governing. Religious views do not belong in government.

You can spend your whole life preparing for eternity, you might be disappointed. The rest of us are going to enjoy our lives to the fullest. Wouldn't it be a ***** if you spent all this time preparing for heaven and died only to find out God is gay?

My eternity is very hopeful. I would much rather burn in hell than worship a hateful, self-admitted jealous and vengeful, angry God for eternity.

I'm giving you my honest opinion. When you look at society at large, allowing gay marriage harms no one, we get along, and more barriers that divide are being torn down. Not allowing for gay marriage is saying "I'm better than you." It's continuing to allow a needless barrier to exist, it's harmful to those it's aimed at, and there is not one valid reason to not allow it.
To put in perspective, the world would come to an end if we even thought about allowing proper white folk and those dirty negros to use the same public facilities. Heaven forbid that a woman vote, and she must never become president because lest she have a period (even though most women who are old enough to be president have hit or are close to hitting menopause) she will push the button (which requires more than just the president) that will cause nuclear warfare. Oh, and immigrants will destroy the core values of society, we just can't allow any Asian or Irish influence in our multicultural society that was established by people of several nations and backgrounds.

Wow you must be a genius! All this time I was under the impression that the point, goal, and result of a committed relationship was to share love. Can you tell us all why this somehow isn't the case in your eyes?

i love how no matter how these posts start, they always end the same. the OP was not asking whether homosexuality was morally positive or negative, or the repercussions in society or family at large. the OP was asking why people from other religions tend to cross dogmatic boundaries when discussing the homosexual-behavior issue. it's not a common practice for abrahmic bible believers to drag a buddhist behind their truck because s/he works on sunday... yet many religious persons feel the need to spread their scripture out to many who dont endorse it on this particular issue. (although i guess, given a long enough time line, the religious in this world will find a way to persecute everyone they can for everything they can ad nauseum)

    and then this garbage...
i think, after reading LittleNipper's brilliant opinion on the subject there are a few terms that need to be defined better.
having sex with an inanimate object is still not consensual. healthy homosexual behavior is consensual, so your fire-hydrant analogy doesnt work. common mistake for a man who has most of his sex with women; he cant imagine a world where a man would willingly have sex with another man- so he assumes all homosexual contact is rape.

sexuality is private. religion is private. marriage is public. politics are public. and society is not so fragile.

please start using definitive terms, it would really clear up SO much and ultimately cause you to have to post less, LittleNipper, and we would all love that.

and just because the world "homosexual" is in the thread does not mean everyone should just ignore the OP and post whatever they feel like.

Homophobes are a scar on society and should have their skulls angle grinded for being so offensive to decent society.

Propogating hate is unecessary, especially concerning matters which occur behind closed doors.

Yes.. would that be so nice, if hetero's got all the tax breaks, but homosexual's had to pay the same amount of taxes as if they weren't in a loving relationship...
