Why do atheist eat babies?

Are religious/philosophical labels more trouble then they are worth? Do we typically pay more attention to the label rather then the person behind it?

Also, what are they good for?

I have no idea how to present who I am to people in my real life.

Even if a label fits... if people have only misconceptions about the label/s...
what good does it do ME?

I cannot find a single label to give people an accurate idea about me,
that will not make me a subject of "suspect" and missed-understanding
in this christian society.

Yet I want to find people like me.
It's a real quandary.

I think I agree, they are not really that useful. People typically see what they want to see. And if a person has preconceptions about what a label implies then they tend superimpose those preconception.

Possibly. If you don't want people to assume other things about you that might not be true based on a label. Although they can be useful to quickly explain your religious or philosophical views.



Some people might. But some people realize that religious views are different for each individual.


As I said, they can be useful for quickly explaining your religious or philosophical views. If your views do not match any existing label, then they are probably not very useful.

I say that all the time.

People see what they are (most) inclined to see.

And it's the truth 90% of the time.

and somehow Q people in who are already in the "know".
Perhaps more obscure symbols might be better.

Also it's much harder to run home and plug a "symbol"
into a search engine.
