Why did God wait for 4,000 years before sending the redeemer? Verse references would be helpful.

He did send many prophets before that including stone tablets. The redeemer also failed. Something inherently wrong with God's designs.

    4000-years isn't enough.
Humans first appeared at least 200,000 years ago, so God waited about 200,000 years before sending JC to sort things out.

God sent "the redeemer" around the first century CE because it was people in the first century CE who were writing the story.

God waited 99.99999999999999999+% of eternity before creating everything 6000 years ago. What's another 4000 years?

If we go all the way back to the earliest humans, one could ask why did it take roughly 6,000,000 or so years?

I tend to think there has always been some people in probably all societies who believed in some basic moral behavior.

No verse references. I was want to see if anyone had anything from the actual scriptures that would answer the question, I'm not interested in opinions.

Agreed. Even before language was invented and certainly long before the invention of writing and laws, humans must have been able to tell the difference between right and wrong.

And since all knowledge derives from the senses and humans couldn't see, hear, smell or taste the difference between right and wrong, they must have FELT it.

In other words, even those earliest humans must have had a conscience. If a Creator exists, conscience is its gift of an internal moral guidance system.

Yes. Good point. That is what Romans says.

    Rom 1:18-23,

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Still, if it was God who would come down in human form and make things right, it seems He could have done it right after Adam disobeyed. Why did He make mankind suffer for 4,000 years? Was it punishment? Why did they get punished, but we don't? Lot's of questions, really.

    Take care

So,...you mean since someone added up the lifespans in the Biblical genealogies and claimed it was an accurate representation of when time began ?

What does that have to do with the OP anyway?

Let's assume the scriptures are a fairy tale. Even a fairy tale has a definite story line. It was said in the fairy tale that Adam sinned but that God promised He'd redeem them. Since it is usually accepted that God Himself came down to rescue mankind, instead of coming down right then and there, why did He wait for 4,000 years? If you don't know, there is nothing wrong with saying you don't know, so don't feel pressured to come up with the answer.

Sorry - I assumed you were talking about Jesus. I assumed you were working from a YEC "the world is 6,000 years old" position.

So by "redeemer," you were talking about Moses?
