Who would you call out to if you were dying?

Good to hear you're regular.

Who's Ogmios?
A Celtic god, more specific to the Gauls, who is compared to an older Heracles, used his power of persuasion to bind people to him (it was remarked those bound followed willingly) and portrayed with a chain coming from his mouth that goes through the ears of those bound to him. He's also a psychopomp, giving me the wonder if it's him I'd call to or see.

This thread, like all my threads, was inspired by something @Rival said. :p

She said something about the test of asking yourself what God you would invoke if you knew you would die today.

I would simply cry out to the Kami. Kami is every supernatural being including God. Even Japanese Christians call God "Kami".

Everyone at this forum who prays to unseen sentient beings, actually is a Shinto adherent (technically), because the only Doctrine of Shinto is "Belief in the Kami" , no other Doctrines, no innerant Scriptures or Prophets, no known founder, nothing to argue about.

The Shinto attitude is Dogma distracts from loving the Kami, causes arguments, and divides.

My belief is we don't know who founded Shinto , because it was founded by the female half of Hashem, to be a common bond, to bring all Religions to common ground, for the end time. But I'm not infallible by any stretch! :p

The highest most venerated Kami in Shinto is not the creator, and is female. (Moms are like Dads, just smarter on average, and less jealous, wrathful, and violent. :p )

It is entirely possible, God himself founded Shinto, and Amaterasu + Shinto was his delight before the world began, to triumph at the end of the ages, because Shinto Doctrine doesn't contradict or conflict with Abrahamic faiths.

So, were I to be in front of a firing squad tommorow, I would call out to "Kami".

Shinto found me, I didn't find her, and was practicing Shinto , enshrining uncanonized souls, no Dogma, no Scripture, just following my heart and conscience, incessant prayer, offerings, sacrifices, for almost two years, prior to realizing I was practicing Shinto.

It did far more for me than the fear, anger, and bitterness Christianity brought me , with all the threats of friends and family being tortured forever.

No thanks to all the New Testament threats of wailing and gnashing of teeth in a lake of fire, for those who don't eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ. Or those not written in some "book of life. I don't want to be wearing a white robe in some choir stall, acting perfect forever, and praising such a God in Heaven.

On a more lighter note, I clicked on my alert notifications yesterday, and for whatever reason it brought me to a girl scout trooper recruiting page with girl scout cookies.

On my walk today I stumbled accross chocolate and caramel girlscout cookies box. (Empty though :( )

Those are actually my favorite kind of cookies. Yum! What does that sign mean? :p

Anyone have a favorite girlscout cookie? :D

I have actually given this question quite a bit of thought, and can honestly say I wouldn't call out for anyone who was dead. Or any god. I would call out for my partner in life.

Why call out anyone. If its your time, its your time. Death will find us all in time.

Check... "nothing to argue" is good for me

The Shinto attitude is Dogma distracts from loving the Kami, causes arguments, and divides.
Check... indeed dogma blocks revelation I discovered

The highest most venerated Kami in Shinto is not the creator, and is female. (Moms are like Dads, just smarter on average, and less jealous, wrathful, and violent.
Check... Sai Baba said this too... women have 7 Divine attributes whereas men have 4
(except the occasional Avatars, both male and female who have more)

Good... when sticking to the "basics" my faith does not contradict with Abrahamic faiths either... hence I Love it 'simple'

Shinto found me, I didn't find her, and was practicing Shinto , enshrining uncanonized souls, no Dogma, no Scripture, just following my heart and conscience, incessant prayer, offerings, sacrifices, for almost two years, prior to realizing I was practicing Shinto.
Similar with me...Sai Baba found me, and my whole life I kind of was in "Sai Baba mode", though I had caught up with some "less Sai Baba like" attitudes I was happy to drop again

It did far more for me than the fear, anger, and bitterness Christianity brought me , with all the threats of friends and family being tortured forever
Sai Baba brought me fearlessness, joy, happiness, contentment and simplicity and serendipity

Than you for describing Shinto. Very clear, and it makes sense and I like it...a lot

I would simply cry out to the Kami.
I would call out to "Sai Baba", and it worked once, when I was about to die, after prolonged fast (no food nor water). I did not really call, but just thought of Him, and suddenly I left my body, going through a tunnel of light and at the end was Sai Baba

So maybe I created my own destiny, could be, and it was a nice one, full of light and no fear nor anxiety, because I did have none, just thinking of Sai Baba

All of the curious would lean in, in order to find out what my final wishes were. I'd then cry out my final wishes....."get off my chest, your suffocating me." I'd cry out to the living because it isn't certain that the non-living could hear me, nor is it certain that they could do anything to help.

Vinidra

Jai Mata Di!
Are you gonna observe the "nine nights" celebration beginning October 7. I will be.

Last time I practiced that observance, it was filled with interesting signs.

When you mentioned "Samoas" , it was a goddess I thought you were talking about. :p

I'm planning on it! Navaratri is my favorite religious holiday.

Not gonna lie, I had to Google "Samoas" to make sure I remembered the name correctly.

Even though I am a firm believer in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ - I would not call out to either of them and I do not know why anyone would call out to any God or Kami.

I would leave a message for my family.
