People are generally down on those things they aren't up on, May. While I disagree with many of the JW's doctrines, I feel a certain kinship with you guys -- just because the Mormons are harrassed a lot, too.

i have no clue, people can be crowl and if there christin then thats not christ like... i don't mind people study with me as long as they disscus the topics at hand and are open to new ideas that can eather be disproved or proved... haveing a differnt view on somthing is a really good way to learn... i have a problem with pastors of most religons there not open to any ideas and there idea is right no matter what... everything that i talk about i can prove or i have the sprit testify to me the truefulness of the topic... some topics i talk about is a bit of a struch but are still within the realm of possiblity... i hope that the problem that you are facing is not about being who you are, that in itself is not good by any diffantion... well good luck and over and out!!!

i find it interesting that there was opposition to Jesus' preaching, and he said that his followers also would be opposed.

People are scared that christianity is not good enough for you. You will look for something else. BUT if you know what you believe then you'll also recognise what you don't. Make sense? Trust in your heart. Out of it flow the issues of life. the bible says I set before you life and death. Choose life. Follow your heart. Know what you believe.

That in no way answers my question about why you keep asking the same question all over. (Well, at least why you were at the time.)

I wouldn't put too much stock in the idea that opposition to preaching proves the preaching is correct. Historically speaking, all of the prophets and their early followers have been opposed, yes, but there must be more to it than that. I mean, Hitler and his followers had opponents too, but you'd hardly claim that means his message was right, eh?

But...am I to assume that I was mistaken on your belief in 'Hell' that your religion doesn't feel there IS a hell of fire and brimstone where all who do not receive salvation will spend eternity? I was once told at a church many years ago that we are not to even get into a conversation with any JW's because they are blind to the truths of God's Word...that they pick and choose? I'm not the type of person who can just turn my back on another person easily but there IS scripture that says that if a person is told the truth and doesn't chose to believe we are to turn away from them...I was told that JW's chose what they want to believe and not ALL of the Bible...can you tell me where the confrontation lies with-in the Christian sects that cause some churchs to shun JW's? There HAS to be something with-in the JW's teachings that are against scripture for so many Christians to say this teaching is wrong and filled with deceit for the people who fall under the church of JW's...I do not look at people by faith alone so I'm asking you sincerely about this...What do YOU feel in your gut is not so 'right' about the JW faith?:)

    Good Day

It's probably because people feel that JW's are too strict. You know they don't celebrate all that unscriptural stuff that people love to celebrate. We have found the JW's to be the closest thing to the truth. People are uncomfortable around the truth.

Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Jeremiah 10:3 For the customs of the people [are] vain: for [one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Jeremiah 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

    Good Day
In todays world most Believers have learned to ignore what they do not like and embrace that which will give them self gratification. So in order to fit in, plus its tradition, they will gloss over certain verses that they do not agree with, or they will use the excuse that it does not pertain to them because it was meant for a historical Israel. Or they will tell you that you are being legalistic.

This is why the JW's are not really embraced by mainstream Christians. The JW's we have found out generally do not compromise or they have compromised very little.

    Peace

All of those scriptures deal with ways of doing things. Like chopping a tree or being dismayed by the stars. What has that to do with Belief? And who are you or I to say they are the heathen and we are not. We're not part of some fancy club that has monopoly on spiritual truthes. Maybe the JW's have a reavelation truth in some areas of living like Jesus did.

its a link , i am not personally asking the question , but before i was a JW , i could see that the world in general , especially chirstian religious leaders , were telling their flocks not to talk to JW, this just made me curious , and now i can see why the religious leaders of christendom tell their flocks not to speak to JW ................. its because JW are teaching the TRUTH from the bible , and JW have not taken on all of the pagan manmade doctrines that christendom have taken on. Yes i can see that the JW are teaching pure bible teachings , and that is the way to go.....for me.
Of the early Christians and JW today ,it was and is said: "As regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against ............
But we think it proper to hear from you what your thoughts are, for truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against."Acts 28;22 yes, just as Jesus and his teachings were the truth , even though it was regarded as a sect , it is the same with JW , the teachings are pure bible based teachings, but it is spoken of as being a sect ,

you are right , we like to stick to bible teaching, and not take on any unscriptual things that would offend our God Jehovah , pure worship is very important to us , as we know that our God does not want us to be contaminated with false things, that is why in revelation 18;4 he tells his people to get out of .........Babylon the great................. because then we will not recieve any of her sins. we believe that Babylon the great is.......The world empire of false religion........

i think if we follow the bible we cant go wrong , but if we follow our hearts it can lead us astray.
A key requirement for acquiring a pure heart is that of gaining accurate knowledge of God’s will and purposes. There is only one source of that knowledge, the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
The Heart Can Be "Treacherous." Adam, although perfect, let his heart be enticed; he rejected the truth and turned away from God. (See Jas 1:14, 15.) Consequently, all humans, the offspring of fallen Adam, have been conceived in sin and brought forth in error. (Ps 51:5) After the Flood, God said regarding sinful mankind in general: "The inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up."—Ge 8:21............so the only way to go is to listen to Jesus and his teachings , because Jehovah said to listen to him. and its all in the bible

That is so christian like. When you ask a christian where Jesus lives. The majority say "In my heart" When you ask them where their beliefs are. they say "In my heart" The bible says "As a man thinks in his heart so is he"
We talk about compromise. Don't compromise our christianity. Please man. You are either a christian or not. There is no in between. So therefore no compromise. The bible talks about being luke warm and that God will spit you out.

But as you say. "The Heart Can Be "Treacherous." So lets just forget about that.

Remeber how Abraham tried to help God by thinking for God. When he screwed his wifes maid. Look what happened from useing your common sense or knowledge.
So then the mind can be treacherous also.
So lets just throw away the mind and the heart. Because they're both rubbish.

It can be argued any way aound. And useing the bible and saying that it the "inspired Word of God" is missleading. Because then God cannot speak to us any other way. Or am I wrong? It's this kind of thinking that has led the church to the place it is today. And honestly it isn't a good place. We are insignificant and impotent when it comes to affecting humanity. Look around you. Tell me I'm wrong.
