White House confirms U.S. may require foreign visitors be vaccinated

This is a good step because the covid variants seem to start in other countries(not started here by the unvaccinated from what I understand) then get brought into the US. Which again is why I support curbing down traveling and upping screenings on travelers.

B.1.1.7 (Alpha): This variant was first detected in the United States in December 2020. It was initially detected in the United Kingdom.

B.1.351 (Beta): This variant was first detected in the United States at the end of January 2021. It was initially detected in South Africa in December 2020.

P.1 (Gamma): This variant was first detected in the United States in January 2021. P.1 was initially identified in travelers from Brazil, who were tested during routine screening at an airport in Japan, in early January.

B.1.617.2 (Delta): This variant was first detected in the United States in March 2021. It was initially identified in India in December 2020.

    Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Another new one in the news today.

    B. 1.617.2.1 or AY.1.(Delta plus)

First identified in Europe in March.

So are they going to start turning back the folks crossing the southern border who refuse to get vaccinated?

Statistically, it is about time the USA gave rise to its first new variant. I'm slightly surprised we haven't had one already, given the political animus against all the public health countermeasures. I expect it will come.

Well in my opinion, if you have to be vaccinated to work at someplaces, have to be vaccinated to go into someplaces, then vaccinate them a they come across or turn them away.

This is one of the very few times I agree with this administration. While I am conflicted about making vaccines mandatory for people already in the US, I 100% support making sure anyone coming in MUST be vaccinated.

This is a great point. Some people wonder why there is an increase of COVID cases as they bus positive COVID people all over the US.

That being said, I am again mandatory COVID vaccination no matter where they come from or live.
