    Whom are you addressing?
Me, I'm challenging the Bible itself.

I am not familiar with this. Quoting a scripture would be helpful to me. Thanks!

What "this" are you responding to?

Would a Sikh, Taoist or Hindu scripture be acceptable?

Would you quote a scriptural reference?

I commented to a member's (Tamborine) post. He posted-in part: "...the Bible also condemns people who wear cloth made from two different kinds of threads."

“Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.” -- Leviticus 9:19

“Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled. Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together. Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.” -- Deuteronomy 22:9

There are hundreds of such commandments in the Torah. A few orthodox people keep them, but most Jews and Christians cherry pick the ones that support their personal opinions, while reinterpreting or ignoring the inconvenient ones.

Thank you for replying. Do I assume correctly that Leviticus 9:19 is from the Torah? What you quoted is not in the Christian Bible.

Sorry, Mark. Typo. That should be Leviticus 19, not 9.
I should proofread more carefully.

The Torah is included in the Christian Bible. In most Christian Bibles Leviticus is between the books of Genesis and Numbers.

Deuteronomy, which you quoted on the last page, is also a book of the Torah.

Is there a particular reason why, as a Christian, you allow your behavior to be guided by one part of the Torah, but not the other?

I am thinking about getting a kilt. It seems the most practical, since sun dresses for a guy my size are hard to come by.

In all seriousness, the idea of a kilt has recently crossed my mind. But since it is considered acceptable for a man to wear, I suppose it does not fall under the category of cross dressing.

"...that which pertaineth to a woman" seems rather mercurial. What time and place in history does this sartorial injunction apply to?

You are mistaken. I am not guided by Torah and I have never consulted it.
