When you think of God what do you see, in your mind's eye?

    What image comes to mind?

    Describe or post a pic!

Here is what I see - the Lord Jesus Christ:

    But what do you see?

Are Moslems allowed to draw God? To make images of him? Is it forbidden?

I know you can't draw your prophet

How can we draw God when we do not know Gods true look? :)
Both drawing of Allah and Muhammad should not be made by a muslim :)

When I think of the Abrahamic God, I see the character from Michelangelo's Creation of Adam painting.

I'm pretty much the same there if we're talking about personified images.

When I think of other gods as anthropomorphic characters, I generally view them along the lines of their common depictions, albeit filtered through my surrounding culture and modern mindset. There are some exceptions though such as a tendency to imagine Thanatos as a hooded Grim Reaper. I also don't typically imagine certain primordial deities in human/humanoid form at all. For example, I generally imagine Erebus as a black cloud or vortex.

I don't see anything. I just feel gratitude, and awe.

    Gad (deity) | Wikiwand
Gad [pronounced gawd] was the name of the pan-Semitic god of fortune, usually depicted as a male but sometimes as a female.[2] and is attested in ancient records of Aram and Arabia. Gad is also mentioned in the bible as a deity in the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 65:11 – some translations simply call him (the god of) Fortune), as having been worshipped by a number of Hebrews during the babylonian captivity.[3] Gad apparently differed from the god of destiny, who was known as Meni. The root verb in Gad means cut or divide, and from this comes the idea of fate being meted out.[4]

That's an interesting question. I had not conceptualized it before. The image varies depending on my mood:

Sometimes my best friend standing beside me with his hand on my shoulder.
Sometimes in front of me when I'm hurled to his feet.
Sometimes a playmate encouraging me to enjoy the divine game.
Sometimes inside me helping me to clean my heart so it can become a throne worthy of him.
Sometimes in my dog's eyes signalling that life can be full of joy.
Sometimes a parent sighing lovingly at my latest stupid mistake; urging me to learn and go on.

In proper case like that, it references the one-god of the Abrahamic religions so I picture their houses of worship, I guess?

I don't have an image of god. Definitely not a person, entity, human, or being.

Hmmm... To me, god has meant many things over the years on a personal level. From an infinite being of divine light and love to a dubious one eyed old man who keeps ravens and wolves.

Today, I suppose the idea of a personal god to me is that of my connection to the world I live in. Not such an anthropomorphized being, but where I once focused on putting my attention on gods, I now put it on the things that matter to me in my day to day life. It puts me into a more present state of mind, I feel.

Less literal, and more philosophical, I suppose. :)

Now if folks want to discuss the topic of gods with me, I definitely don't rely on that idea, since it really only applies to myself in my life. Don't want to confuse things more than they already are when talking about such concepts with people. :D

You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

But do you ever imagine what he may look like?
