I got expelled from a boarding high school, and being a ward of the Children's Aid, that was the end for me. Except I kept trying on my own (after some years of confusion on the streets), and managed rather well. With a Grade 11 education, and a lot of hard work, I managed to become the Vice President of Information Technology for one of Canada's largest insurance companies, and have a few software patents to my name.I didn't finish high school.
The first part was "Professor".That is cute. What was the teacher's name if you can remember?
I'm the one guy with the HS diploma. Everybody else is so smart.
I took some university courses at night, while I was architecting an insurance system. One of my professors was actually a Catholic priest. I wrote him an essay on the topic of "What Paul Meant by Salvation, taken from the authentic Pauline Texts."The first part was "Professor".
I don't remember the rest.
I don't know, I'm just curious about this.
For comparison, in the United States the levels of educational attainment are roughly (per 2015 analysis of the census):
There are no significant differences by sex assigned at birth, though there are significant differences by race unfortunately. Data from (PDF file): https://www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/publications/2016/demo/p20-578.pdf
- 88% are high school graduates
- 59% have some college
- 42% have an associates
- 32% have a bachelor's
- 12% have an advanced degree
How do we stack up?
