I highly doubt a lot of things. Actually, one article I read said that the vote won't happen until well after Brexit is complete. The Scots still have hope Brexit won't happen, even though it is in vain.

If it does happen it will be because of Brexit. There is no other reason why the Scots would wish to become independent.

This proves that the UK has some sensible politicians.

This professor was right about Farron and backs up John Redwood’s opinion.

No wonder the EU is panicking.

I disagree that England suffers but I agree with the rest of what you say. Unfortunately the Conservatives are determined that Scotland's elected government shouldn't even be allowed a place at the negotiating table to represent Scotland's interests.

That depends on whom you ask. Some paranoid folk south of the border seem to think we can't make a single political decision that doesn't involve them somehow; and that our desire for independence is motivated by hatred of the English. Ask independence-supporting Scots like myself, however, and you'll be told we just think the governments of Scotland should be selected by the people who live here; that laws which affect our daily lives should be drafted up here rather than some stuffy palace in Westminster.

We actually have a number of reasons for wanting independence.

It proves the UK has politicians who don't think they should pay money they've pledged to pay - despite the fact we'll still be benefiting from EU schemes up until we leave.

Why are you ignoring the fact Foreign Secretary Johnson has admitted we will have to pay this money?

So who exactly will trust the UK if the Government refuses to pay monies its already promised to pay towards EU projects? What do you think this will do to the UK's credit rating? This seems like a very, very short-sighted decision.

Remember, if it comes to a trade war, we'll lose. The EU 27 have one another to trade with tariff-free and will have a much better reputation than the UK after this. Countries like Japan are already making trade with the EU a priority over the UK.

Brexit's still shaping up to be amazing

Yes, the fact that you are uninformed shines through with the magnitude of Sol. If you believe the "BrExit" vote to be nationalistic and nativistic, then you are beyond the realms of future education. Readers of classical economics, such as myself, who voted for BrExit, would be in aghast at such stupidity present in this comment.

Which is odd, considering this thread is largely devoid of good information.

Why is exiting from a political union (la BrExit) nationalistic?
