If Phoney Blair had not opened the UK borders willy-nilly, there would be plenty of room for the deserving.
We took in those escaping Nazi Germany and they integrated very well.
We took in the parents of Priti Patel and she has integrated very well.
Those suffering in Hong Kong will integrate very well and it will be a smack in the face for the CCP.

Why do you think people fleeing a civil war do not qualify for refugee status, but the citizens of Hong Kong, who officially suffer no persecution, do? Is it because the latter involves the PRC?
If so, then you are mistaken. The Geneva Convention makes no distinction between the citizens of China vs. the citizen of any other country when it comes to granting refugee status.
(And of course, we know how the fate of Hong Kong refugees would play out. They would become trapped in the same bureaucratic nightmare as any other person fleeing persecution. Nobody would care about them past their initial 15 minutes of fame in international news, as at that point, they would cease to be of political value to the UK government.)
