A well-kept beard is neither uncomfortable or unsanitary. Shaving itself can be uncomfortable for many people and unhygienic if done wrong.

Well a beard is the default of course, so shaving them off would have been the first fashion trend in the area. There doesn’t seem to be a current fashion in favour of beards (one I hit entirely accidentally) but that constantly bounces back and forth like all other fashions. It should ultimately be down to personal preference though.

I think the longer beards are going by the wayside for now. Stubble seems to be all the craze at the moment. Admittedly, I trimmed my goatee down to a "1" this morning...and didn't shave.

Your preoccupation with how other people look is unhealthy and stupid. There are real problems in this world that deserve your attention and people not adhering to your taste in aesthetics isn't one of them. If you instead fixated on the destruction of the environment, exploitation, war, starvation, animal cruelty and so on, maybe you'd actually do some good.

All of that is assuming that you aren't just trolling of course. Frankly, I'm not 100% sure on that. So if this is a wind-up, bravo, you got me. If not ... get a grip.

Fall and winter is right around the corner, a beard helps protect and warm the face and neck during cooler months on motorcycle rides and while hunting. Typically clip mine off during summer but never shave clean. Trends come and go and come back again but I was never a trend guy,

I have to agree with the OP here. Since I feel uncomfortable growing a beard no one is allowed to grow one. Also, I love waxed beans. As self declared dictator of the world I demand that we grow more of them.

That is two of the main problems of the world solved. I'm exhausted. I guess global warming can wait until tomorrow.
