So do you completely ignore the Social Justice message of Jesus, and would rather the poor suffer and die in poverty with no health care, that's what the message of the right wing is today, the most un Christian values party in history.. Republicans today, especially the Tea party, are no more Christian that the Stalinists in the USSR, I suggest you focus your thoughts on how Jesus treated the poor, disabled and sick and contrast that with the Republican party, which cares way more about unborn infants than living people.

Good points here (and, I'll admit, it's nice to have a thread about a different religion for a change, heh). I myself have often wondered how Teaps and Republicans square away their 'people on food stamps and waiting staff wages are scum' mentality with their belief in a man who healed the sick and ministered to the poor and the dispossessed without any thought of reward for himself.

Not sure I agree with the notion that they're 'not true Christians' (seems like a bit of a No True Me fallacy :p ) but that doesn't detract from the overall impact of your OP.

Jesus never supported an institutional health care system, that would have been the realm of the money changers.

In the UK we call it the NHS, it is marvellous. Yes, it has faults but I rang for an appointment, was seen, had some tests, received results and have been referred to a specialist. In less than a week.
    Total cost = £0

I can't believe the daft system you have in the US - you can tell it is led by the rich who can afford healthcare

Jesus provided free health care, the money changers did diddly squat for health care, you're point is utterly ridiculous. The typical Republican response is; we don't owe any one anything, but we call ourselves Christian, we're just not interested in following Jesus' example.

Even though I am not republican. I do love Jesus. So like I said in the other post.

Jesus believed in helping people by teaching them to fish, so that they could fish for food the rest of their life. Instead of just handing them a fish. Therefore giving them the freedom to live life and still have a way to not starve. Its a handup not a handout.

Social Justice demands that we give people a fish. Not bothering to teach them how to fish for themselves. This is a handout and not a handup. This sets up a welfare state of people who will have have to ask someone for a fish everytime they want food. They do not have freedom because they have to appease the hand that feeds them, or else they will starve.

Social justice is just a modern form of slavery. As indicated with its stance on open immigration. This is cheap modifed version of slave labor basically that keeps immigrants as under paid under the table manual labor. Democrats owned slaves up until the civil war, and it appears their stance on it has only slightly been modified in the past 150+ years to justify it.

I will ask you one more time so you can dodge the question again: What did Jesus say about the poor when he was getting his hair done with that (evidently) very expensive oil?

your post is complete and utter nonsense, where in the Bible did Jesus teach anyone to fish, the disciples he went fishing with were fishermen, they probably taught him to fish. Jesus handed out fish and bread to the masses, he didn't teach them to fish, your attempt to twist Jesus into some kind of Right wing zealot is odorous at best.

He was having his feet washed, so you think he should refuse the woman's generosity.

So this is the implied theme,

    Jesus was a Democrat.

Never knew political affiliation played such an ecumenical role in Jesus's life.

Its just a proverb used to convey the message. Jesus didn't believe in handouts. He wanted people to help themselves.

    Jesus actually said: Matthew 7:7

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Which means you can pray for it, but you should search for find the answers yourself.

And obviously a socialist one at that. Heaven forbid anyone doubt this meme, infidel dog.

Oh, come now. It's not like Jesus set up a form of government and a free universal heath care system.

Nope, but he also never demanded that everyone should adopt his beliefs. He always let people make their own decisions, even while they crucified him.

That's because people are trying to twist Jesus into a hippy pacifist. They forget that:

I'm not a Republican but there is nothing affordable about Obamacare. The country can't afford it nor can the middle class. There are many great things that we would like to do for everyone but if we can't afford it then we can't afford it.

Jesus did not give money to the poor. He did not work a job and give all of his money to them. He taught us many good things but He left things the way they were. We're supposed to fix our society, not have it imposed by Jesus or God.

Jesus would feed the poor, heal the sick and disabled, forgive those who offended and show compassion to all of the above. These things he both taught and practiced.

We have to do something over here. Health care costs are terrible and getting worse. No one should go bankrupt simply for daring to get sick. Our system here stinks. We give billions of dollars each year in aid to other countries that provide health care to their people yet dont provide for our own. something wrong with this picture.
