This is complimentary to the thread 'The Future: Humans'. This is about humanities future. It is in a debate section as to enable all to have input. I see our response to threads such as this help guide us on to a better future.

    Untitled.jpg

The source I will use is from the Baha'i Faith and I make it clear from the start, you are not being asked to be a Baha'i, you are not being compelled to participate in this thread, I offer this aspect of my Faith as the solution to the worlds current issues, as the solution has, I see, been given.

The solution given by Baha'u'llah, was all summed up in an example Baha'u'llah left as a prosperity for humanity. It was the gift of His son who became known as Abdul'baha. We have been told to Look at Abdul'Baha, follow Abdul'baha and be as Abdul'baha was. What is being said was Look at His Life, follow how he lived that life and be as he was, each and all of us. Not to worship Abdul'baha, but to live in servitude to each other as he did.

    I see that is the future, us being able to be as Abdul'Baha was. It gives all of us a challenge;

Can we be the embodiment of such a pure Love?
Can we be the embodiment of such a selfless service to Humanity?

We can all benefit from such a way of life. Is there any other way?

I don't "think" anyone would disagree with the sentiment and goal of what you're saying. I'm not sure if anyone wouldn't want peace among humanity. So, there's no debate between intention and goal only the how, foundation, and who should lead the way and/or should there be a leader. The debate is pretty much nil without taking into consideration religious views that oppose bahai yet derive at the same conclusion but alternative interpretation thereof.

Is there a solution to this issue?

I see the truth as that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality.

Others see it as that which they believe to be true.

    I prefer my version

I've got to tell why I voted for 'other'. Says so.... :)

Truth is about everything that ever happened and everything that can be.

We know a tiny part of what has happened.
Our Science knows a tiny part of what can happen, for instance in physics, chemistry, math, etc.....

    How does this help?
Not much.... we just have to keep plodding on.

About Bahai...... Any Bahai beliefs in total peace are weakened by the fact that a Bahai World would have its own military and police forces, so Bahai obviously doesn't feel too confident about that.

Truth can be paired with falsehood in the world of duality. There is another Truth which is beyond and could be considered an attribute of Divinity. From this perspective, Truth is the action of Divinity in the world of forms.

I agree with @ChristineM's definition of truth "as that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality." Although, I tend to use different words to express her point, due to my nearly life-long interest in being a royal pain in the butt philosophy, and the various philosophical theories of truth.

What both Christine and I are getting at has a name. The Correspondence Theories of Truth.

Other: Truth itself is only important if the person finds it themselves. The truth is the truth but the journey is the experience.

The problem as I see it is that there could be a spiritual reality that cannot be proven as a fact.
But that does not mean the spiritual reality does not exist because proof does not create reality.
What atheists believe to be true is that the only reality is the material reality.
But that does not mean the material reality is the only reality that exists.

Thank you Unveiled, I hope you are happy and well. Yes I see the solution lays within our acceptance that we are one human race on one planet. The logic of that is that we are from the same source.

What I see is that the veil of names will be wiped away and the progression of truth will be embraced. That Truth is outside the names but for us, is found only within those Names.

So when each of starts to more and more embrace what is from God, the change will happen. I see no future in trying to do away with God, and that is where the world is now at. For many years, people who have been unjustly subdued, on learning what it is to be Liberal, have tipped the scales as to when Liberty is good and when it becomes a pernicious influence.

We all have a lot to learn, I for one lets say we learn peacefully together. Regards Tony

I can see life is all about the journey and we each see truth in our own way. But I would conclude that the way we see it, cannot in the long term, alter what it actually is.

Tricky, what is fact and what is reality? I see truth can change both of those.

For instance, at one time it would have been taught about a flat earth, it was peoples reality and taught as fact. The same can be said for some biblical stories, seen as true taught as fact.

So it seems truth is more than our current understandings, that it is outside a world of scientific discoveries and faith built perceptions as to what is 'Truth'.

Does that then mean truth can only be relative?

@Sunstone - I edited this, as your reply agreed to the post I responded to.

    Regards Tony

The like is for most of the post ;):D

As to the last statement, I put my peaceful attitude forward, as what can and will happen with the Baha'i Faith in the future. I know that peaceful attitude is shared by a person that is a Baha'i. Now the tricky part, to be as Abdul'baha was as he was the first Baha'i and the example of what it is to be a Baha'i.

That OB is the biggest proof of the goals of the Baha'i Faith, the Goal is to live as Abdul,Baha did. Thus what did He say about the future?

    Regards Tony

Yes, I see that by making Truth known, all that is not Truth becomes possible.

We agree we are one humanity just not the same source.

How do we arrive at the same source with religions that oppose bahai views?

In other words, if two arrows pointed away from each other, what solutions can we use to get them to point the same direction without altering their paths?

The very essence of your word is truth.-Psalm 119:160

I am the way and the truth and the life.- Jesus Christ. -John 14:6.

There are two unerring and infallible books of truth. One is the Holy Bible. God's word. Not man's.

The other, the book of creation. The fundamental laws that make up the universe are reliable. So much so that we can send artificial satellites to distant planets, comets, and meteors in our solar system with exact precision.

All of the electronic gadgets we use and rely on tap into the laws of the universe. They are dependable, truthful. Man does not make up these laws. Rather we discover them, study them, ponder them, and then use them to our benefit. (And unfortunately many times our detriment.)

We ourselves are full of errors and are wrong about most of the things most of the time. Don't rely on human wisdom or understanding. It is chalked full of errors. Every single time man invents any new gadget for our betterment someone goes and uses it and gets himself killed using it.

The truth is the same for all us but is only understood through our experiences so all individuals reach it differently. While it is never altered it is understood individually.
