Just thinking back in your life, what situation did you experience that made you proud? Whether it was an accomplishment, birth of a child, or a car you bought. Please share and discuss.

For me, it would be (eventually) graduating from university!

I put in a lot of hard work and in exchange I got a certificate and earned the right to wear a silly hat and put some letters behind my name

But more importantly I finally caught up with all my friends and family, who all had degrees - which was nice!

I finally figured out what direction I should go, when I studied the revelations of the Baha'i faith
I built my first computer. This isn't saying much, but I worked many months at a job to pay for it. It was a two thousand dollar computer, back when gaming computers were more expensive. I would NEVER pay that now, nor could I really afford it. But that moment when I plugged it in and everything worked... priceless.

Both my children are now adults... And they are both good people. That is what I am most proud of.

I'm not sure... but having read 1000 books by my 40th birthday was cool.

I have only little moments which inspire some pride.
    Never did anything really noteworthy.
Greatness never darkened my door, eh.

I'm sure I'm quite late in the game but congratulations. My only regret when I walked in commencement was that my mother and father wasn't there. It was bittersweet but one of my proudest moments indeed. I promised my mother at her funeral that I would graduate. The same degree I earned, I placed it in my father's casket when I went to his funeral.

Coming out of Christianity and letting go of a lot of hate I had for a lot of people.

    Dropping National Socialism.

Riding on the outside of a helicopter and then hopping off on top of a 200 ft. Steel transmission tower, to climb down a hook ladder and clip in bundle conductor in the desert. For the first time... Pretty good for someone who used to be afraid of heights.

...This week, I'm doing more helicopter work. Maybe I'll post a picture.

I think my proudest moment was when in high school when I played basketball we faced an elimination game where we were down in the 4th quarter and the coach knowing I could go in and make buckets at anytime ran an isolation play for me. Sure enough I got the ball, ran baseline and beat my opponent went for the jump shot floater and hit nothing but net to tie the game. The gym went wild. My mother was there, seeing her cheer me on made me so proud to have done that, not just for my school but for my biggest cheerleader. sure enough in overtime we went on to win sending us to playoffs which was funny because my high school in basketball haven't been in the playoffs in over a decade. The coolest part was going to my first class the next day which was English class and everyone clapped as I walked in the door. My proudest and most memorable moment.

Interesting. You're one of the coolest individuals I know that I've never met so it's surprising to hear. I'm glad you let the hate go and continue to improve yourself. I'm certainly of the belief that regardless of your religious faith, God will place you in situations where you can personally make self-improvements and if that means leaving one faith and adopting another so that you better yourself, so be it.

Edit: You're probably also cool because you're English, as I for some reason get along better with English people than American.

I have a hard time getting along with Germans. I'm thinking most people do?

Germans attend an engine show I frequent.
    They're unfailingly jovial & interesting.
I've also worked with some at Knorr Bremse.
    They were OK.

Well I was being facetious. There are all kinds of cool people across the world. In my experience Germans are cool people with cool accents especially the women. It just boils down to the individuals you've met. Can't brush em all.
