in that regard...possibly because of more
social contact with them than with rednex.

It's PC people. Rednecks tends to use slurs (ad with them, you know where you stand with them, no guess work required).

I led a different sott of life than you
in the USA, most of it was " upper west side "
Manhattan.

I did though make trips all about, including
longish visits to a ranch in Wyoming.

I must say, those cowboys and ranchers were terrific people! So welcoming, wanted to
show me everything, get me on a horse,
"help" with branding, ..those for sure
are " shirt off their back" people!

They were curious about me, but never once
made me uncomfortable.

Which honestly, pc folk often enough make my skin crawl!

I tend to use it to for the unsavory types. Like someone who would fly a Confederate flag and demand the Uncle Sam keep his government hands off his medicare. Often uneducated (and not just school uneducated) and uncaring. Like my dad, who taught me words I had to unlearn and still says awful things about people who aren't white, white people who date people who aren't white, and any kids they might have.
