What is wisdom?

Hope you are all enjoying your time on the forum!

Have you ever stopped to wonder what wisdom is?

I suppose you COULD look it up on Google these days :)

Here is one I found in a book called simply "Happiness" by Matthieu Ricard -

Wisdom is precisely that which allows us to distinguish the thoughts and deeds that contribute to authentic happiness from those that destroy it.

Would you believe Matthieu has been named by some as the "happpiest man in the world" - though he doesn't take the title all that seriously ...

Makes a good google search too.

Feel free to post whatever pops into your cotton-pickin mind as you read my words :)

Enjoy your day

The understanding of dukkha, the cause of dukkha, the elimination of dukkha and the path to do so.

If I ever become wise, I'll let you know :)

But the definition given in the OP seems good enough to me at the moment.
