What is the foundation of all the World's Religions?

How can a Baha'i and Hindu better understand each other?

I don't see a need, whereas I think you do. For me the need is just tolerance. I know enough about Bahai to know its non-violent. That's enough. Other than intellectual knowledge, I just have no need at all to dig into Bahai belief. So its a case of, 'if you leave me alone. I'll leave you alone.' From this forum I've learned that individual bahais have differing focuses. Of the three I've read quite a bit about, one is here to present information about Bahai, another was here to argue and proselytize, and then there's you, who is just more curious about the world in general. Hopefully you've learned similarly about Hinduism ... that we're a varied lot.

Of course if anybody wants to understand any other religion, they can go exploring, via books, by entering houses of worship, etc.

Money. And they work on their potential proselytes because it means more money to be counted with. BTW, they have a budget to aim at and there are promises even of afterlife rewards to donate. The Catholic Church used even to sell indulgences from Century 10 to 12 claiming that the buyers would be taken from Purgatory into Heaven faster.
