What is God in General?

The Sum of Awe

Brought to you by the moment that spacetime began.
Inspired by a thread in Christianity DIR. I am interested in hearing what you believers in God actually envision God to be... A person? Does God have form? Etc.

Whenever I think of God, I always imagine an abstract ball of information, all of this existence is, at the most basic level, made of pure information in my opinion, and that is God. But instead, all of this information is just one being, experiencing it all at once. All of time and all of space all at one point in space and one point in time.

When I think of God, I think of nothing, I am not able to comprehend God, He is far beyond what I can imagine or think, don't take this the wrong way but I feel what you wrote "whenever I think of God" is not even a minuscule of what God is. However His Son is a different story.

The short answer is, God is love.

I'm only a human. What you ask of me is just too much. Maybe once I can remember every day without fail to remember where my car keys are, but right now I hardly know what's going on inside of me. How can I really ever be expected to know what is supposed to lie outside of this world or this universe?

I'm not a believer in any conception of deity. Mainly because there are so many to choose from that it is just too obvious that the substance is lacking.

God is Truth. Truth, to my mind, cannot be captured by image, phrase or word. I think there is something of this Truth in everyone and everything.
I wouldn't presume to speak for God and when I speak about God I understand that I am talking about myself.

But so-called "truth" is relative to understanding. What is true today may not be true tomorrow or this afternoon - or in 4 seconds...

God is everything, the creator, experiencer and substance of the universe. The universe is His great play; He separates Himself from Himself and returns Himself to Himself..(Our consciousness is eternal God at its core; not the production of matter in a brain).

Trying to wrap my mind around shape shifters, the only thing I could come up with as
an example is a kaleidoscope. This conspiracy theorist deep in the poop thinks
they are extra-terrestrials.

Although, I am quite certain the Lode detested the art of shape shifting, at least, "In the beginning.".

People are just making this cosmic being with little to no individualism or personality to
suit all needs and the mother ****** is not real.

I think of G-d as being the Creator and the Creating. He is infinitely good and infinitely merciful. I have no form in mind when I think about G-d and thank Him.

God(s) is an all pervasive energy that permeates anything and everything. It is the starting force of the big bang, the driver of concious thought, and that which humans anthropomorphize to attmept at understanding it better. I could go into more detail, but I will keep it short.

God is the epitome of imagination.
Yes. God is the Image of God.

Yes. God is not the Image of God.

God is in its purest essence, the idea attached to the object of my affection.
a numinous other. as long as there is a me, there will be God. because everyone needs something to live for.
if there is no me, there is no God. then there is just existence.

God is the Big thing, the highest thing you can imagine. for some people God is a sport, or the army, or a political party or ideal. not just a deity.

but god could also be a label for a celestial being of some sort.
or If the creator is God, then existence itsself is God, but it would be a nameless God.

Another short answer would be, God is.

It's difficult to express clearly. The best I can do is describe the gods as a combination of concepts, natural forces and something roughly akin to an egregore.

Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One,

Allah , the Eternal Refuge.

He neither begets nor is born,

Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
