What if Trump Wins....

What if Trump wins, but the house and the senate turn blue? He won't be able to say the vote was invalid, because that would invalidate his win. But then.... Trump would be facing both a congress and a senate that would not let him off the hook for his criminal activities as Potus. He's only able to get away with this because he has strong-armed those of his own party to let him do as he pleases, regardless of the constitution and criminal laws. That would not happen with a democratic senate in place.

So there seems to be some possible silver lining to a possible, yet improbable Trump victory?

He'll likely still have the SCOTUS so two branches of the government against one.

If Trump wins, my first impulse would be to take a long walk on a short pier.

However, instead of that I would then name our country the "Fascist States of America", as anyone that can intentionally put children into cages in order to "send a message" could do almost anything next.

I still cannot believe how anyone who professes having Judeo-Christian beliefs can possibly still support him. If Trump & Co put his supporter's own children in cages, would they still support him? How about if Trump "groped" their wife or their daughters? Or is it all fine & dandy just because it's someone else's daughters and sons, not their own?

The swamp will be finally drained, the wall will be finally built, the Clintons and the pedophiles will be finally locked up, and all the communists, Muslims, Mexicans, gay agendas and loose women will finally get what's coming for them.

We already know most of what he will do. If Trump wins he will continue his goal of removing regulations and replacing them with fewer. The pro life lobby will have a heyday. We will definitely pull out of WHO, as he has already applied for that. What else? We will continue to mine for coal and will not focus so much on wind turbines or solar panels. He'll continue to do whatever he's always done. Two years in a new election will come up for some of the senate seats. Two years later Trumps time will run out, and another person will be sworn in.

Yeah! Time to build those concentration camps! Fire up those ovens. Line up those train cars for shipping them in!

Yes, I see your vision for America. Neo Nazi White Supremacy.

What I imagine instead is a compassionate society, where folks like yourself get the help you need. Life is far richer for you when you don't hate others like this.

Interesting question -- but I guess for everybody. The executive can't make legislation, but legislation without the exec's signature isn't law. The judiciary can't (or isn't supposed to) make law, either. So a pyrrhic victory for Trump, and a pyrrhic victory for Congress.

And a big loss for the United States.

It would be a nightmare for our country if Trump were re-elected and then the House and Senate managed to impeach and remove him from office. That would negate the vote of the people who are well aware of who he is and chose to give him a second term.

It would be for some other crime he would commit, which shouldn't take long with him. Instead of being thrown out without a fair trial again, a real one would happen this time, and then give what Americans cast their ballots for in the first place. Holding a lawless president accountable to the constitution and the law. We don't cast out the law because someone is popular. At least not in an ethical, moral world, that is.

At least we'd be able to have an impeachment hearing in which the members of congress actually fulfill their constitutional duties.

Hardly, because if Trump does happen to win it most certainly won't be by popular vote.
