That One Guy
I'm not gay, but if I was, I'd be hounding over my avatar.
Vampire Hunter D: the only pretty boy who can make the Terminator cry.

D is the perfect hero.
He is silent and respectful. He is graceful and powerful. He is misunderstod and a loner. He's beautiful and can still kick major a**. Plus his left hand talks to him.

I TOTALLY agree. It's the short ones you gotta look out for. Besides, I love short boys. My present obsession is only 5'4.

*blinks before smacking herself in head* I actually managed to read that as 'My present possession', heehee! But I agree- short guys rock. (My present love being the guys that played the Hobbits.)

Cerrax, you're making me want to see that series more and more each day!

My avatar is the Bonnie Blue Flag, a symbol of southern pride and righteous rebellion. I would've had the Battle Flag, but i figure that since this site is all about not offending people, it would get deleted in short order because of the ignorant pukes who don't know what the flag really stands for.

I'm thinking about changing it to a scene from FMJ where R. Lee Ermey is yelling at the recruits

"AHHHH! Thats a war face now let me see your war face!" Greatest movie of all time.

My newest is a representation of how much of a difference only a few good people can make when they're prepared to be scared poopless and make funny noises while running away from nefarious villain types! Not to mention riding around in a crappy old VW van  the humanity!

Always an excellent unmasking of the evil do-iller :D

It represents the oppression of nature and the revenge of such.... It's just an animation I created through Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop. I liked it, so I reduced the size to fit. ;)

My avatar represents the less than admirable gimmicks used in commercialist culture to encourage mass consumerism...

Nah, it's just Satchel from "Get Fuzzy."

I have been wondering if you are going to update it as your daughter grows. Lovely picture James.

Mine is "The Fool" Tarot card from the Ryder-Waite pack. It symbolises the innocence of our first steps in this world. I like the way a book enlarges on that that I have: (Eileen Connolly's Tarot The complete handbook for the apprentice)

We begin our journey with the pure, untouched soul, not yet of this world. All wisdom and knowledge, containing the total essenxe of God, are contained in the innocence of a new born baby, physically present in the world now, yet still enveloped in the highr consciousness.

Of course, that is me, innocent and naive.

Probably. I just need an equally good one that's more recent first. Next time I might try to get both kids in.

Mine is of a Bonobo, one of our closest relatives. The picture was taken of this creature in captivity, apparently he just sits there, "pondering" whatever it is Bonobos ponder. All I know is when I look at this creature, I am reminded of that famous picture of Nietzsche, except Nietzsche was hairier... :p

Basically, the picture reminds me not to think I am anything more special than any other creature.

Well there's only two movies, and the one from 1985 is pretty cheesey (because its from the 80's :D ) but Bloodlust was made in 2000 and it is utterly beautiful. Yoiu should definitely check it out!

mine's got a similar story. it's more than just a funny looking bonobo with headphones - the resemblance to what i look like on the morning train is striking - it's also a photo of kanzi, a bonobo that has learned to communicate with humans to a degree that is simply astonishing. his language capabilities allegedly exceed that of a two-year old human.

my avatar then serves as a reminder that man isn't in any way apart from 'nature', but in fact a part of nature. this might sound like a banal insight, but fully investigated it has profound philosophical and existential implications. i believe we need to realise wholly the extent to which we're connected to and dependent on the rest of 'creation' if we're gonna have any hope of surviving in the long run. certain widespread religious/cultural teachings have done a lot of damage in this department in the past...

Quisp Alien from Quisp cereal (is that cereal still available? Did I ask this question already?). He’s kooky, quirky and stays crisp in milk. It reminds me of Saturday mornings, cartoons, Jay Ward (creator of Bullwinkle and Cap’n Crunch characters) Quaker Oats, a time when they consistently put prizes in cereal boxes and promoted questionable life on other planets. It’s a keeper.

Always a familiar favorite. An interesting fact about Kreeden's avatar is that he was one of a few people (maybe even the first person) to employ a moving avatar when I first signed on and has kept it ever since. It's a keeper.

Bastet

My avatar represents the underlying and often invisible strength of the female form and spirit...

Nah...it's just a hot chick with a sword. :p I have no idea why she's stuck around so long (I had a couple of different 'Bastet' themed avatars before that). I just really like it.
