I worked in Silicon Valley as a semiconductor test engineer and data analyst, then as a software engineer and finally a satellite development engineer (basically a rocket scientist). I retired young from engineering and now I am a teacher of STEM subjects mostly. I teach as an avocation in order to give back to others.

Why did you retire ?
After the last satellite design my team was working on was finished I considered what I wanted to to next. I was financially well off, so I decided I wanted to find a vehicle for giving back. I decided to become a teacher. I have found teaching the next generation the best vehicle for being able to help others and give something back. I have been very blessed in life. Now I want to give to others. It’s that simple.

I'm retired, after 33 years working for an oil major, mostly in the lubricants division. (Before that, I trained for a while to be a patent agent, but got bored with the law.)
