What are You Doing When You Want to Relax these Days?

Being rather naive i did a google on Balinese donkey porn. I can assure you i won't be doing that again with the kids around (or hubby for that matter)

Interesting though that this was the second search result

When is it Permissible to Show Quality Balinese Donkey Porn at a Wedding?
There's a brilliant mockumentary series called This Country, starring and written by Charlie Cooper (and his sister Daisy May). Curious as to what he looked like in real life, I searched for images of "Charlie Cooper." I won't be doing that again.

Relaxing... like that's going to happen anytime soon.

I set up an aquarium with hopes of a calming outlet, but its actually induced more stress. The name of the game has become "how many items can I throw into the tank before my slow moving mother comes and stops me".

There's no better relaxation than posting
on RF while watching cartoons on TV.
(The similarities are fascinating.)

What are you doing when you want to relax these days?

What are you avoiding in the same circumstances?

Me, I've gotten into popular music out of (mostly) Hong Kong. It started over a year ago, and has gradually come to dominate my person playlist, although I still listen to other kinds from various and sundry places around the world, including three totally local groups.

I'm clueless about the meaning of the lyrics of the Chinese music, but it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. Yet, a curious thing happened about a year ago. I grew fond of one song in particular by Lowell Lo. Working on and off over about three months, I wrote a poem loosely inspired by it.

Well, at least I thought it was 'loosely'. Turns out when I got curious enough to look up a translation of the lyrics, the poem was not only on nearly the same theme as the song, but also used some of the same imagery as the song.

Make of that what you will, if anything.

Here's a hometown band...

I'm into ASMR videos. Have you heard of it? Stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. I don't usually get actual "tingles" that other people get, but I just find the videos extremely relaxing, especially people whispering, drawing, writing, or brushing.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
I'm slobbing out on the couch thinking "I must take the kayak out again... "
Couch warm, water cold, easy to postpone the kayaking. It's nice to walk by the sea though, I wave at the local seals, which seems to amuse them.

I have gone back to my fighting game ways. Playing Tekken which is paradoxically stressful and relaxing at the same time. When I start swearing and trying to throw my keyboard at my monitor, I know I have played for too long and should give up the gaming ghost for the day.

I pick up the guitars... one at a time. :D I can spend a good couple of hours, combination of playing what I already know and learning new songs. The husband will walk up behind me when I finish a song (and in the process scaring the **** out of me because I’m so into it) and say I’m getting better.

Brilliant! I've been trying to learn bass guitar, but even 4 strings is a challenge.

Welcome to the low end. :D I had a bass some years ago and would like to get another one someday. I was teaching myself. Stick with R 3 5 notes of the rhythm guitar’s chords and you got it made in the shade. :sunglasses:
