What are the differences between the gods and the Dao?

The Dao(sic) is subject to fluctuations in the stock market.

But seriously (darn, it's not a 'joke' thread) I suppose it's that the Dao is about our participation in the world, whereas the concept of "gods" is about ontological entities that we interact with and that interact with us.

The Dao is unconscious, impartial, and pervades everything. It is not one entitiy, nor can it be restricted by names or titles. While the gods are conscious deities and reward/punish those who follow them. The ones that follow the Dao are not neccessarily following it, they are more going with the flow (wu wei).

I was thinking of something to write myself, but it failed. Willamena said it best IMO.

Violet.
I think I may have inadvertently named The Dao, "God".

You don't think that other god might be upset about this, do you?
