Featured What an incredibly odd thing to say. But then again, he's the Pope.

What does that have to do with the Pope?

I interpret the article as reading that the Pope is saying: "It's an honor to have Protestant Christian Fundamentalists attack me."

It's almost as if he's defending that.

Otherwise I would think he would have mentioned it as being something else other than an attack. Like this is valuable enough to cover for.

Is "martyr signaling" an offshoot of virtue signaling?

It appears that it is the conservative U.S. Catholics that are attacking him according to the article. Nothing about "pedos". And I do wish people would find a different word to use. I keep reading that by its Spanish meaning.

Did most of you not read the article? It regards criticism from U.S. catholic conservatives who believe he has become too liberal and strayed too far from tradition and doctrine.

When you see an excuse to attack the pope, you don't bother to READ the article!

A polite translation of "pedo" would be "flatulence".

Me too, but it is distracting in a humorous way. Child abuse is something that I am not quite ready to joke about yet.

Yes a Pope can and has been. Keep in mind the Papal States use to be a power in Italy so were involved in far more than simple religion.
