Were the crew of the Enola Gay war criminals?

I already posted that Japan was willing to surrender. It's in a number of history books. What do you say to that? How does it support your myth that the nuclear bombs were necessary?
It's also in the history books they did not surrender, & that they intended to fight to the bitter end.
Just conquering outlying islands cost us more lives than all of the D-Day invasion.
Invading the mainland would've been far far deadlier.
I don't say nuclear bombs were necessary.
I only say that their use was reasonable in order to save many American soldier lives in winning the war.
Loss of Japanese life concerns me less, but it also appeared to reduce their loss of life as well.

I say they rejected the Potsdam Ultimatum, and that the Emperor, when asked if the war would continue if the Allies asked for his removal, replied "Of course". Wanna link? That, my friend, is basic history. The Japanese didn't quit because they thought if they could hand the Yanks a bloody nose they could negotiate a 'reasonable' peace. After the nukes and the Soviet invasion they knew they couldn't.

The two bombs were necessary and well used.
I hate it that it was used.
Those bombs ended WWII. My dad was wounded (again) in Belgium and was
recovering in a hospital in England when told his wounds would not get him
discharged as combat vets were going to be needed for the invasion of Japan.
When the bombs dropped and Japan surrendered do you think my dad shed
any tears over dead Japanese?
NOT! Dad was in light tank Spearhead Division which meant he was first armor
in and first shot up! He lost FIVE light tanks under his butt.
He had NO compassion for an enemy of America.
Granny, Dad's mom, had FOUR sons in active combat. Three in Europe on in
the Pacific. All wounded and emotionally scared for life!
Those four brothers came from the hills of W.Va. and didn't even know what
or where Japan was when drafted.
Hell they didn't know what that war was even about till drafted.
But they ALL did what was asked and more.

...............and the Japanese would have fought on in an even more determined
fanatical fashion.
ALL combatants, including the crew of the bombers delivering the atom bombs
are true hero's.
It must have been horrible to be a crewman on those planes realizing
10's of thousands of men, woman, children, even cats, dogs, and insect, were
obliterated.
We can only pray no civilized people would ever use those weapons again.
But....NOT ALL people are civilized and believe some"god" would permit
such slaughter.
