Well Guess Things Are Not Going Too Well In Libya

InformedIgnorance

Do you 'know' or believe?
How much of it was really stolen? How much was used as payments to various forces, embezzled to allow it to be used in more covert allocations or simply destroyed/abandoned after having been used for a purpose not officially sanctioned etc?

Here's something about it by the Libya Herald: The New Independent Libya Daily : "Speaking to the Libya Herald, the Pentagon was guarded its comments: "Fox News has maintained that the loss of the specialised equipment has caused a rift between Washington and Tripoli. However a London defence specialist today told Libya Herald: “This all sounds rather odd. It would be hard to imagine that US forces, whatever their mission, would be training Libyans with state-of-the-art equipment. "

Here's a less sensationalized article by The Telegraph containing information Fox leaves out about chemical weapons and the UN perspective:

Of course things are not going too well in Libya.

The place was ruled by a fanatic and violent madman for decades after having been a colony of fascist Italy, has little understanding of personal or religious freedom, lacks anything resembling self-reliance in basic needs such as food, and has just gone through a bloody civil war with a few explosive drones thrown in for spice.

Oh, and it just happens to be in the Middle East, be oil-rich, and a Muslim state surrounded by several others.

What did anyone expect? A new Nordic Country?

This is one of the reasons that I opposed McCain's belief that we should arm the rebels.
