Here's some weird on top of weird ... now, I was in my 20s when this song came out and I remember it being played a lot at parties because it was very fun and dance-able. But apparently, back in the day, we were a lot more used to "weird" music than folks are, today. Because these folks clearly have no idea what to make of this classic B52's song ... I think their reaction is weirder than the song. The song is weird, but very well done.Their confusion is puzzling to me.

My favorite movie genre is horror, so weirdness is so par for the course that it's hard to pick just one or two movies. That said, I'd say the weirdest I've seen are these (in no particular order):

- Audition

- Martyrs (devastating, not just weird)

- Baskin (quite metaphorical too)

- Antichrist (found it boring but still weird).

I've seen tons of "weird" movies as I watch a lot of B-movies and underground horror, as well as exploitation flicks.

I watched this recently and I still don't really understand it, but the visuals and cinematography are so gorgeous.

It's basically a bunch of metaphors for a young man's anxieties over fatherhood. It's a psychological movie using surrealism.
I've heard that. It seems cromulent.
But I also recall David Lynch saying
that he enjoyed critics reading into it
deep meaning that isn't there.

How about you - as to really weird stuff?

Have you seen Being John Malkovich?

I watched pulp fiction on the hotel TV last night, that was pretty weird.

That was a classic. Many great characters and memorable lines. Since it's fresh in your mind, you'll recognize all of these:
  • Zed's dead.
  • Say what one more time. What?
  • Bring out the gimp.
  • And now, little man, I give the watch to you.
