The cells of your body are described by wavefunctions, capable of sending a person into another dimension the moment they die.

Laser light is localized in direction and energy. The light and dark bands that form are the result of non-locality. The more precise we measure the location of a wave packet the less precise its momentum will be as they form a conjugate pair of observables.

While your consciousness is local, God is non-local.

A mind of pure negativity can be Quantum teleported from another dimension. But then again, simultaneously so is God's non-local mind. Hence there is no need to fear.

I see confusion and leaps if faith here, but no science to back it up

So, you like stringing big-boy words together I see. Now all you need is to weave some sense in there and you might have something.

Fear not, I've heard that. :)

Do you think God's non-local mind is what we perceive as our conciousness in this dimension? Do you think this dimension exists apart from God's imagination? Do you think imagination qualifies as a dimension?

    Thanks!

This is a textbook example of "quantum woo".

We have a worthy rival to Deepak Chopra in our midst!

Lasers do not produce light and dark bands. Light and dark bands form if the light passes through something that gives rise to a diffraction pattern. This is a straightforward interference pattern, that has nothing to do with "non-locality".

The bit about position and momentum being conjugate variables is true - but has nothing to do with diffraction patterns. You get diffraction patterns with any wave, e.g. in water, and they result from constructive and destructive interference. That's all it is, i.e. it can be accounted for perfectly well by c.19th classical physics.

Looks like you've read a little pop-science about quantum mechanics, failed to understand it, and just jumbled the words up into a narrative you like. Oh, and "another dimension", in the sense you're using it here, comes from tacky science fiction, rather than science.

Of course I'd not argue science (or math) with you, particularly when science is right but in the spirit of me being a bit bored right now I think he meant diffraction occurred passing from God into our dimension, the light and dark bands probably represent our perception of good and evil which is only an illusion on our side of the coin.

That's very ingenious of you. As an allegory of some sort, not bad at all.;)

But this thread is in The Material World, and as such readers will, I think, expect it to be physically meaningful.

On such occasions I find it amusing to refer people to the random Chopra sentence generator:Random Deepak Chopra Quote Generator

Latest offering being "Your body is entangled in positive actions."

Apparently, the words are taken from Chopra's Twitter feed and made into random sentences.:D

Really? Show where a cell is described by a wave function. And then show anything at all connecting wave functions to death or its aftermath.

The light and dark bands only form when there is interference from different sources.

I'd like to see a demonstration of either of those. Especially the second. And, in the quantum sense, consciousness is distributed over the brain, so is decidedly non-local.

    Huh?

Every object can be described by a wave function no matter its size. See de Broglie.

Yes, but you fail to see the analogy of the big picture.

The brain is merely a part of a whole. So is consciousness.
