What does the Governing Body need to know that The Holy Spirit can't reveal to them?

But if all earth governments are of the devil, why affiliate with a GROUP of said governments, if the Watchtower is consistent?

    *** w10 7/15 pp. 20-21 par. 2 “The Spirit Searches Into . . . the Deep Things of God” ***
2 Jesus indicated a twofold way in which the spirit would operate. Shortly before his death, he told his apostles: “The helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you.” (John 14:26) The holy spirit would thus act as a teacher and as a remembrancer. As a teacher, it would help Christians grasp things not previously understood. As a remembrancer, it would help them recall and apply correctly what had been explained.

Hmmm, can you say of electricity, "THAT "ONE" KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON?" Since the GB teaches the Holy Spirit is just a force of God, is that verse translated correctly?

Do teachers teach us things we previously misunderstood, or things we don't know yet?

Christians need to realize one thing, the Watchtower and JW's haven't caught up with us yet, they are still waiting on "NEW LIGHT" from the GB. I mean, look at the last 100 years of the GB's teachings. One example, look at 1975, only JW's sold their houses and property in 1974 to prepare for the end of the world. Christendom didn't teach or believe that nonsense. Who was right? Without realizing it, they are glorifying satans kingdom instead of Gods. They say they are God's only people and the GB is God's only channel, but Christendom has proved them wrong on many of their teachings over the years. So who knows more, God or satan?

This is the kind of post that makes them feel persecuted. Feeling persecuted they believe they are true for Jesus said, "you will be hated".
1975 is past. They know how to forgive, which is good. Isn't it? Why not focus on what they might have wrong now?

    The Watchtower disagrees with you.

    *** w13 7/1 p. 3 Why Question Religion? ***

Suppose you need to have surgery for a life-threatening illness. You would want to have the utmost confidence in the surgeon, since your life will be in his hands. Would it not be prudent to review his record of experience?

Similarly, it is wise to examine religion carefully. If you belong to a religious organization, you are, in effect, putting your spiritual life in its hands. This includes your prospects for salvation.

    *** w13 7/1 p. 7 Is Any Religion Deserving of Trust? ***

The next time you meet Jehovah’s Witnesses, why not ask them why they trust their religion? Examine their teachings and their record. Then decide for yourself if a religion exists that you can trust.

You are an amazing researcher. I hope you aren't getting a headache from it all. LOL You remind me of someone on another forum. I forget her name as I am sure she forgets mine.

That's why they can't baptize as Jesus commanded in the NT: In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Obviously, you can't baptize in the name of God, a man and a force. It makes no sense. So they ignore the words of Jesus and baptize into an organization.

Watchtower Society United Nations NGO status
    • Library access is not an acceptable reason for breaking its own rules
    • There was no requirement to join the UN in order to access the library
    • There was no change to the application process specifically in 1991
    • The Watchtower was required to lodge annual applications between 1992 and 2001
    • The UN affiliation was only revoked due to media publicity. If a Witness confesses only after their sin is public knowledge there is high probability elders will not see their confession as a sign of repentance
    • If a Witness can be disassociated for membership with political organizations, the same standard should apply to the Watchtower Society
    Anyways...

    • “The United Nations is actually a worldly confederacy against Jehovah God and his dedicated Witnesses on earth.” Watchtower 1987 September 1 p.20

    • “The Bible condemns things such as stealing, idolatry and the misuse of blood, so a Christian could hardly engage in work where he directly promoted such things. Would doing the work so closely link a person with a condemned practice that he would be a clear accomplice? Even a janitor or a receptionist at a blood bank or a plant making only weapons of war is directly linked with work contrary to God’s Word.” Watchtower 1982 July 15 Box on p.26 Employment Factors to Consider
Anyone can research old Watchtower articles. Before the year 1991, they condemn the United Nations. Between 1992 and 2001 they praise them. After 2001 they go back to condemning them.

can you show me where the WT have praised the UN ?

I fail to see how paying for information from an organisation makes you an employee of the organisation.

I think the point is that they teach a separation but at the same time do not appreciate their own rule of separation. Tell me please, is it OK for a Jehovah's Witnesses to rent a church for a meeting? Is it OK for Jehovah's Witnesses to pay the YMCA to do some exercise? I have heard that the JWs are not allowed to join the YMCA. Do you understand? Are they acting like the Pharisees of whom Jesus warned not to? Why do they not listen to Jesus?

    Matthew 23:4

I know some JW will say it is not a burden to refrain from joining the YMCA. Am I right?

    Matthew 23:23

By their joining the UN I know for a FACT that they do not obey the spirit of Jesus' words. So I should listen to them???????

    Seems awful important!

Leaven is something added to bread to make it rise. Jesus warned about eating it and I am mentally diseased to take the warning to heart. according to them who I am convinced are modern day Pharisees. I should be unconvinced?

This is just from spending 5 minutes online. These are just a very few, there are plenty more. But you will get the idea.

"Jehovahs Witnesses firmly believe that the United Nations is going to play a major role in world events in the very near future. No doubt these developments will be very exciting. And the results will have a far-reaching impact on your life. We urge you to ask Jehovahs Witnesses in your neighborhood for more details on this matter. The Bible clearly paints a picture showing that the United Nations will very shortly be given power and authority. The UN will then do some very astonishing things that may well amaze you. And you will be thrilled to learn that there is yet a better way near at hand that will surely bring eternal peace and security!"
    Awake! 1991 Sep 8 p.10

Read the entire article in Watchtower 1995 Oct 1 pp.3,7

"FROM its very inception, the UnitedNations organization has been interested in children and their problems. At the end of 1946, it established the UnitedNationsInternational Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) as a temporary measure to care for children in areas devastated by war." Awake! 2000 p 3-5

Have you asked a JW what these events will entail and what the UN will do exactly?

You may not realise it but the answer is not along the lines of what you are thinking here.

Praise where praise is due, but this is really just an article regarding the needs of children in the world and things the governments are trying to do to address those needs?

The solution highlighted in the article is Gods Kingdom government. That is the only solution to the terrible problems we see in the world. And although the UN or other agencies may try to solve such problems, they never will. We will praise anyone for trying to do good, but we are not fooled into thinking they will be able to solve the problems because they can't.

I've asked, yes. I've asked JW's who came to my house once. However, they had no idea what I was talking about. Anyway's, I have no interest in asking JW's about it anymore for 2 reasons, 1) no single JW or elder knows either. They would just give answers like the one you're giving below. And 2) I don't really care. That's their game of mental gymnastics to play with themselves. They have to try to lie to themselves.

    Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like I said, that "praise" only came during the 10 years they were associated with them. Before, and especially afterwards, you will never find such articles. The Search for Good Government — Watchtower ONLINE LIBRARY

(here come's the "they corrected themselves" argument)

I think you are not teaching what the Bible really teaches. God gave Earth to humankind. The command to Adam was to have it in subjection to humankind. You teach that it is to be in subjection to Jehovah God. Psalms 115:16 Psalms 8:6 Genesis 1:26

Why the change in God's will?
