Wars or Pornography.... which to eliminate if you could only get rid of one??

Skanky Old Mongrel!
On another thread in a distant section far far away, on a theist's 'ask me' OP I asked the above question. ....:-
If you could only eliminate one of these, 'All Wars or All Pornography', which would you eliminate?

That member replied 'Pornography'.

For what its worth to you my answer is 'All Wars' because I'm not much bothered by 'All Pornography'.

So which would you eliminate of those two?

It's sad that so many here don't recognize the difference between porn and sexuality. Porn isn't even about sex. It's about greed and exploitation. But obviously war is mankind's ultimate act of inhumanity. So I'd have to choose war.

I would think it would be more important to end war.

I thing far less people have died as a result of pornography.

But take what I say here with a grain of salt, because I've never even owned a pornograph.

"Let loose the dogs of porn" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. :p

I can see how the industry is exploitive, but how are depictions of sex and nudity in and of themselves bad? What about illustrated/animated porn that doesn't even include real people?

It's a strange choice.

If the pornography involved sex trafficking or other violations of human rights, then it might entail war.

People documenting and sharing sexual acts for their own pleasure is their own private concern. But when money becomes the motive, it perverts the reality of it. Greed poisons everything it touches, and it makes porn toxic. Especially to people who don't understand that it's all fake. That it's praying on people's ignorance and weakness for profit. And there are many of these people.
