How is Trump putting an end to our free press?

he's not a journalist and obstructing information to the public; which is not a national security issue. it doesn't serve the public interest to worry about his image, or convey misinformation.

as you yourself noted, it's "our" and not trump's. it's "our" only avenue for information, and events outside "our" own localities.

You say "our". In the US does the press belong to the people or to private companies?

Yet you name no specific actions taken by government or under color of authority.
This sounds like a mere feud.
Meh...

unless you're living under a rock, one only needs to focus on trump's actions. he represents the whole of government and authority. his feud with the forces that pose a threat to the people of the US and yet he ignored the intelligence provided to him without prejudice.

and then he turns and provides misleading information; which he himself acts as abhorrent.

Let me know when government takes any real action which could cause censorship.
Until then, I'm OK with a feud between Trump & the leftish media.

the president represents the people of the US; whether left, or right.

information is neither left, nor right. it's neither affirming/denying but reporting everything as accurately as possible, and it's definitely not self-aggrandizing publicity campaiging..

he's sworn to uphold the constitution and do his job. He's declared war on the american people by maligning the truth and not some foreign entity. Without information we're just mushrooms and being fed BS.
Mushrooms are tasty, though, for those who can think for themselves.

Jesus said, "Lucky is the lion that the human will eat, so that the lion becomes human. And foul is the human that the lion will eat, and the lion still will become human."

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
So far, the weekend fiasco seems to not have been repeated today. Spicer had a very normal press conference and answered questioned from all media outlets. No indication of any specific outlet being frozen out. So, first Monday was uneventful on the "war on media" front.

Thank goodness.

This pretty thin stuff.
Any legislation pending or even proposed?
How can you legislate?
What are you suggesting, every story about Trump has to go before a committee and scrutinised?

This is a very worrying development, control of the press is the start of a totalitarian state, welcome to North Korea.

I advise not becoming agitated at every Trump story or thread hinting at the possibility of apocalypse.
The press is no more controlled now than under Obama.
There is no legislation proposed to change this.
(Exception: Democrats have proposed censorship in the form of the Fairness Doctrine.
While this is only "censorship lite", it is more than Trump has done or proposes so far.)

Analogy time.....
The left has long accused gun rights types of being crazy for fearing outright confiscation.
They say Hillary would never do this.
That some politicians have proposed it is no reason to fear it.
If it's crazy for some to fear the possibility of a great evil, then why is it
reasonable for the left to be frightened by every possible thing Trump might do?
