Blessed Walpurgisnacht for all those who celebrate it.

A Germanic variation of the May Day celebration held on April 30 - May 1. Before Christianity, bonfires were lit on this day to welcome the coming of Summer. As we are midway between the Summer Solstice and the Spring Equinox.

After the introduction of Christianity, the holiday became a celebration of the German St Walpurgis and their accomplishments of curing disease and combating witchcraft.

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to light bonfires in our neighbourhood for obvious reasons, I'd have loved to celebrate with a proper Hexensabbat.

Really? Not even in like an approved firepit? That sucks.

Weather is a little moist here, so I m waiting for the skies to dry a bit before starting.

I live in a housing project that has plenty of green space, but is just dense enough that making a fire is seen as a bit of a hazard, although to be honest, since the green spaces are all maintained by the local community government, I suspect that they just don't want people messing with their beautiful lawns.

Fair enough? Maybe go somewhere where it is allowed?
Otherwise, I'll drop a few offerings in my fire for you.

    How rude!

I never “purg” anywhere without saying ‘Excuse me’!
