Vegan & Vegetarian Stuff

A friend found canned jackfruit at her local grocer, and I am so jealous. I can't find any around here, just the big fruits. I want to try it, and cook with it! You can make stew, sliders, etc.
They use it in panchamirtham, a special 5 fruit concoction used in special abhishekhams.

I'm unable to use jackfruit as a meat substitute.... (it doesn't sound appetizing at all). However, I like jackfruit in various recipes where its meant to be jackfruit.

I understand why the farmers are mad. But here's a secret, don't tell anyone.

The city council was right.

It is healthier and better for the planet if people do eat less meat. Perhaps they should strive more to support a vegetarian or even vegan diet.
I agree, and no-one wants their livelihood threatened. I think they need to diversify (says the person who knows ****all about farming).

Got this from Mozzers (UK supermarket). Ignore the word nougat (maybe lost in translation from the German?), it's chocolate. Not just any old vegan chocolate, but vegan chocolate that's as good as I've tasted. Just gorgeous creamy chocolate really, as good as Vego. Oh yes.

Noir Noisette is black hazelnut although the french would say noisette noir... Don't ask me why...

So nougat and hazelnut... Hmm much false advertising on these vegan goodies.

So is it really plastic free?

Well the inside wrapper seems like cellophane but for all I know it's actually made of recycled bamboo from sustainable rainforests. (Joking aside, my new glasses are apparently made from recycled plastic bottles, just not at a recycled bottle price).

"The manufacturers of Nougat Dark Chocolate ORGANIC have stated that the packaging is free from plastic."

Another stuffed aubergine (egg plant)

An aubergine per person, sliced in 2, the flesh diced and scooped out.

Fry the skin until tender.

Slice a bell pepper into strips and fry it, remove the skin.

Mix the diced flesh with the pepper, sliced black olives and feta cheese.

Perhaps diced onion or garlic (not tried that yet)

Salt and pepper to taste.

Spoon the mix into the aubergine skins.

Bake at 200c for about 20 minutes until the feta starts to brown.

Tonight, I made a whole wheat pizza with broccoli and spinach on top. A little feta on top, as well. It was so good. I’m not very good at making dough so I’d be happy if someone can offer any brands of pre-made wheat dough.
