It seems like potentially too useful and necessary a tool to discard should we actually need it, especially considering it too is subject to the usual round of checks and balances other facets of government are.
However, where it bothers me, is in this era of hyper-partisanship Congress may fail to veto an abuse of the power or veto a necessary use of it. But, it's rather fitting, I must say, of America to turn a system of fail-safes into a scenario of damned if we do, damned if we don't.
