UK - Police will enter homes and break up Christmas dinners

...Also, the £100 fines seem a little ridiculous during a pandemic, when people might have reduced hours or are being furloughed.

"Police chiefs have warned that Christmas family celebrations will be broken up by officers if they flout lockdown rules." Is this the kind of model that the left wants from their government?

Police commissioner says officers WILL break up Christmas dinners if families flout lockdown rules | Daily Mail Online
The police are independent of our rightwing government. Even the rightwing Daily Mail knows that.
What has the "left" got to do with this?
Broadly speaking, people are supportive of the efforts being made to bring infection rates down. The police have already said their order of action is educate, persuade, (lastly) enforce.

I don't know what this has to do with "the left". They are in a tier2 lockdown to dial back the hotspots of the virus. This has nothing to do with politics. I wish "the right" can see that this is about protecting them and everyone else. It's a health crisis, for goodness sake. Be a good citizen to others, should you feel the need to whine about making personal sacrifices during a crisis that can kills hundreds of thousands of people. Just look at the U.S., if you need an example of what happens when you are a selfish, whining baby being asked to care about your community's safety and well-being.

The whole thing seems heavy-handed, IMO...
Most in the UK don't think that. Just a few covidiots promoting business over life (presumably including the owner of the rightwing propaganda rag the Daily Heil).

And about not having the right to freedom inside your own home? It's okay that the police enter inside and tell you what to do..?

If you are violating rules by having others outside your immediate household members in there, gathering illegally during a lockdown order, sure! Yes. No different than if you had a meth lab set up in your basement. Would you argue they have the freedom to do that, just because it's inside their own home and they should have the freedom to do anything in there? What about stabbing people, if it's inside your home?

Freedom to infect, is not a freedom at all. It's irresponsibility. You are endangering others.

Such laws have been brought in by the rightwing government. Could you respond to that fact? You're not barking up the wrong tree, you're barking where there isn't even a tree.

So your left is our right, and your right is our left?

Found a Brit on youtube who properly handled the
cops trying to enforce proper Covid behavior.
Warning....colorful profanity.
