U.S. Atheists Know More About Religion Than U.S. Christians

How did I "bear false witness"? What DID I say about you?
You keep confirming my original observation that you cannot follow a conversation. You made this claim:

"So you don't know."

Here is a hint, you can back up the conversation by clicking on the arrow at the end of a quote.

Anyone surprised?

.

Considering that many people who introduce themselves as Christians have no idea what that means, I'm not surprised at all. I would offer them a Bible study but most of them prefer to remain blissfully ignorant.

My impression as well.

That's right: billions of people. Your impact on the world in the name of religion isn't even the rounding error for the impact of the entire religious population on the world in the name of religion.
I'm not saying that. I'm not even sure what religion you are.
Edit: to use an analogy: saying "our car-centric culture costs thousands of lives every year" does not imply "you, the person I'm speaking to, are a dangerous driver."

So you want to call something important in my life a detriment to society but I am ok somehow? Sorry, don't get it. Rape is bad are rapists ok? If religion is bad how am I ok?

Why do atheists know more about religion then the actual religious? It makes more sense that the practitioner of a said religion would know more about it then an atheist. You learn more by hands on experience anyhow.

But also, why do atheists spend so much time learning religion in order to bash it IF they are so sure its all wrong?

In that case, why dont they go spend there time enjoying there ONLY ONE LIFE they got. Why do they WASTE so much time studying religion?
Why do you WASTE so much time on Religious Forums?

Real Christians imitate Christ. And Christ was a humble, simple, kind man who obeyed God unconditionally.
He treated others with consideration and respect. He had empathy and love for people. He didn't live for material things, didn't show off, didn't get involved in politics, didn't incite or commit violence, didn't try to obtain power so he could control people. He came to give people a message of hope and was not afraid to tell the truth no matter how much it was disliked by those in power.
Jesus had real moral values and lived according to them. Many so called Christians today pretend to have those values but their actions tell a very different story.
Like it says in Luke 6:43, “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit."

Why should real christians "imitate" "christ"?

It's usually when a Christian reads the Bible and finally realizations set in concerning a few things.

It's time for a religion divorce.

I'm wondering how many Atheists were once Christians?

This is too funny. It appears that atheists know so much and yet know so little.
Given the amount of confusion Christians have with their own tenants of Christianity even......

32,000 plus denominations....

Hundreds of biblical translations....

It really doesn't take much for an atheist to garner a pretty fair understanding of Christianity.

"Detriment to society" covers a wide range, and no individual is exactly average.

I can't speak to your personal case, but do you understand how a person can think that car culture is harmful overall while still considering, say, Meals on Wheels as generally good?

If religion is bad how am I ok?
I don't know enough about you to say that you necessarily are okay or not.
