I just got the news. My church Unitarian Universalist church which has been on the decline in recent years has had a sudden super high surge in new attendance and membership sense Trump got into office. It maybe folks who are expressing ourselves as not being Christian for the first time.

Sense Trump is Christian it maybe some who were in the Christian religion who changed to the UU church.

So what's your opinion of UUs sudden upsurge out of the blue after the election?

Universal church without Jesus is like a new world order global religion. The one that the anti-christ will be the head of. So with the political winds passing that way, they probably smell jobs and money there, so are rushing to get in.

Anyone who aligns themselves to Christianity on the moral principles of Trump does not understand the message of Jesus.

I think, kind of like in the other thread, Trump isn't so much of the problem as he exacerbating an already existing problem. And he did bring along Mr. "Christian. Conservative. Republican. In that oder." with him. And I think people are starting to grow tired of Christianity and question its very foundations, especially the Conservative types.

Anyone who is against Christ is anti-Christ. No one person in Scripture is THE anti-Christ.
False clergy who seat themselves in the ' temple ' (houses of worship) as if they are God are actually anti-God.

I'd like to see some hard statistics on this question. Since the election, what has been the rate of church/synagogue/whatever attendance? Has it been higher or lower, and why? What have individuals who have started or stopped going to places of worship said about their reasons?

In Scripture I find there is No one particular one anti-Christ but rather anyone who is against Christ is anti-Christ according to 1 John 2:18; 1 John 2:22; 1 John 4:3; 2 John 1:7.

He identifies as such, and is recognized as such by his evangelical base, even if he fails spectacularly to live up to the tenets.

I find it hilarious how you think that *everything* that doesn't mesh with your particular flavor of Christianity (even other forms of Christianity) is part of some vast conspiracy for global denomination.

Unitarian Universalism is simply an interfaith, non-denominational church for seekers to find fellowship while discovering their own path.

Which shows the complete moral bankruptcy of much of American Christianity.

Of course. It takes some serious cognitive dissonance to claim to represent Jesus while totally failing to actually follow what he preached and practiced. Jesus spoke against being greedy, judgmental, vengeful, lecherous, egotistical and elitist, etc.

He says he is, and regardless of whether he's being sincere, a lot of Christians support him.

He does. His behavior is the opposite of what Christ taught. Trump is just an ultra-rich lying narcissist who abuses people and will say and do anything for worldly power.

IMO, anyone who even participates in government or saves for their retirement has already failed to follow what Jesus preached and practiced.

The people who actually took Jesus's words seriously are out on the margins of society, wandering the world with nothing more than the clothes on their back and a begging bowl, trusting that God will meet whatever needs they have.

When we're talking about people with enough wealth and political influence to get elected, we're already talking about people who have rejected Jesus's message. Trump is no different than any other politician in this regard.

The only difference: people tend to attribute vaguely good feelings to Jesus, and Trump is less good than most.

If he wan't a part of their political agenda, you know christians would be lambasting his lifestyle rather than looking the other way.
