Trump Impeached!

Yes, they are now properly to be referred to as the Trump Party. Honor? Forget it. Integrity? Hah. Honesty? No.

Well, there is a certain honor and integrity to displaying loyalty to a figurehead. I don't fault that as a value system in of itself, but this country is supposed to be a democracy. In a democracy, a value system like that should hold no sway and have no place. But neither the current president nor the Republican party as a whole seem to care very much about democracy these days. That's what I find so alarming about what's happened. I'm all for letting the voice of the people be heard on the next presidential election, but when a sitting president starts involving foreign powers to interfere in an election and abuses the power of his office while doing so? That's a serious problem. Anybody who doesn't see that either doesn't care if this country turns into a dictatorship or takes the foundations of democracy for granted (or is possibly ignorant of them).

Are you starting to see the problem with this statement?
BSM1, sir. When a soldier joins the army, he knows he may be killed or maimed. A citizen may also die in the line of duty. Do you not see that a president may be impeached for any reason whatsoever? There is no way around this. Now...if the senate acquits it should explain why. That is all. I'm in a representative democracy, so I do not intend to go through all the fine details myself. Something up there stinks, and heads must roll. When I see heads rolling then I'll know at least somebody besides me has some skin in the game. There is a problem when the politicians are untouchable, and I get the feeling that they are.

BSM1

What? Me worry?
There won't be a "real trial". Moscow Mitch has already said so. It will be a sham because Trump's lawyers were going to run the show in the Senate.

I see you've already groomed an excuse when Trump is found not guilty of these transparently ridiculous partisan charges.

You do realize that the original charges were bribery, quid pro quo, election tampering, and possibly treason. After the facts came out you see what the charges are now. Even the most ardent Trump hater has to agree that this is farce that no duly elected president should ever have to face.

I agree. You stated it well.

Wrong. It's zero percent a farce and he should be convicted of the charges. A mountain of evidence has been presented to document that fact.

I have also read Pence could be a threat to Trump. Perhaps he'd rather get rid of Trump so he can be in charge, one reason they want to acquit Trump quickly is because of Pence testifies against Trump he could pull the rug out from under Trump t be in charge.

Nothing will come of this. Trump will escape being impeached and will get reelected, setting precedents which will serve as nails in the coffin for both ethics and accountability in government and faith in the American people.

If they get rid of him will it be a huge injustice? Pence will become president, and Trump will retire.

Worried that you won't get your way in a free, fair, and open trial? I for one would hate to see an America where all it takes is some accusations to convict someone with no real opportunity to cross examine the evidence.

Not true. A plurality support impeachment. A minority oppose it. And then there are those that have not decided yet. In other words more people support impeachment than oppose it, but not over half. This is a case where one cannot say "most" for either side since there is a third possibility that you ignored. But if one could ignore the undecided then most do support impeachment:

Where Americans Stand On The Democrats’ Impeachment Charges
If they haven’t decided that means they don’t currently want it. Nice try though.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I just had the pleasure and privilege of watching the House of Representatives' Judiciary Committee vote on the Articles of Impeachment. Donald John Trump has been impeached by the Committee. Next week, the full House votes. Merry Christmas, Mr. President.
The Socialist Kangaroo kourt has spoken.

Good. We can all go back to business now since it's all out of their system.
