I'll raise you a William Shatner cover (which is surprisingly good)... :alien::rocket::fullmoon:

Just remembered I would tie Heart's cover of Immigrant Song with Zeppelin's (another live one).

I am definitely way more into Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Heart, and Halestorm (I forget her name, Haley something), lmao. And Alissa White-Gluz; nearly all men who sing in metal wish they could growl and roar like she does, lmao.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence.

Paul Simon is known for being indifferent to others who cover his songs, so it was a surprize when Simon shared the link to Disturbed's version. Simon said he was very impressed with their interpretation and how it captured the passion his lyrics tried to express.

It's a great song, and that is quite good too.

Another I like is this one:

I think Lemmy (RIP) would have been perfect for almost all of Metallica. Not really a remake but that voice to this song.

I actually prefer this version over Led Zeppelin

Also, of course, when a writer recognizes your own remake...

Okay so this isn't a remake. But the writer of the song performing it later after it was popularized by Linda Ronstadt. I thought about creating a separate thread for songwriters who write songs for others but perform those same songs themselves that sound different but it sounded too convoluted. Anyway...everyone has heard Linda's version but few have heard Michael Nesmith's version who wrote the song. Okay maybe most people have but anyway.

None of the above. Big on disturbed sounds of silence though.
