Too good looking

I am too good looking for my own good. I wish I was uglier.

I have a gift. I can instantly tell when someone wants me. Which is very annoying because im in a committed relationship, hence the problem. And people don’t care if you are in a relationship, they will tempt you nonetheless.

I tried making myself look uglier by no longer combing my hair and letting my beard get all patchy, but a gay guy at work told me it’s not working ;-;

I know this is posted on mens issues, but I’m sure a lot of women can relate.

What about you, fellow man? Are you too good looking for your own good too?

Although you probably are good looking, I'd say that for a man, you especially don't want to fall into the area of being 8/10 or 9/10 in looks - this is the area where some women feel super confident they have a chance, yet don't feel the man is completely out of their league.

As for a gay guy finding you attractive? I'd just take it as a compliment, since some gay guys, not all, are almost as picky as women.

Yeeea I’m probably like around there because I’m scrawny as hell. If I worked out and had a good physique, I could be a 9.5 I think. I have experienced hella confident woman, but I just look at em with a straight face usually and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

So far, I myself haven't thought of much a man can really do to make themselves less attractive. Without going overboard, at least.

It's more versatile for women, though. If a woman doesn't like the attention she's getting, she has the option of dressing more guy-ish. For some women, they aren't really into that, and I understand that too. But dressing like a guy to avoid unwanted attention is a fairly common thing in the lesbian community (although, it's not the only reason a girl might choose to look or act masculine, either).

I'm a woman, not a man, for the sake of this thread.

I don't understand human attraction or what bodies have mainstream aesthetic appeal. I have difficulty distinguishing faces in general. Humans pretty much all look the same to me outside of height, weight, and skin tone.

I also don't have the social intuition to know when someone might be attracted to me unless they outright tell me, and even then I would probably assume they were just being nice. That's the thing with compliments; they're so often fake that I don't believe any of them anymore. That's true for insults, too, though. So it's easier to just stop caring what other people think entirely.

Maybe you just care too much about what other people think, but you can't control that. It's not worth stressing over.

In all seriousness, I could see how that would be frustrating. Attractive women hitting on you and being flirty, but you’re already in a relationship. A lot of men say also that it seems when they’re in a relationship they’re being hit on more, when they’re not in a relationship then women turn their heads.

It’s good you understand your relationship is a commitment and you’re not trying to fall into temptation. Remembering what the woman you’re with means to you is all you need.

I would say that beauty is still in the eyes of the beholder. As one sits in a mall and looks at people passing by, one could say "WOW that is one ugly looking guy/gal" and yet right at the arm is someone who is gazing at their eyes and saying, "MY, what a blessed person I am to have such a good-looking person hooked up me!"

And then, by chance. he/she met your eye and they thought, "THAT seems to put the UG, in UGLY!"

I'm a great believer in distinguishing between static and dynamic beauty - and appreciating both. Some people look good in photographs or when still, while others, although nothing apparently special to look at when still, seem to light up when they smile, or in their facial expressions, or the way they move. Beauty can take different forms. And then there is the whole question of sexiness. This is not, in my experience, the same thing as beauty.
