I believe eternity is bestowed upon all.
so....continuance is expected
as if it cannot be avoided?

I see this life as a construction......a creation
and this form I now possess
and sometimes possessed BY it
is not my handiwork

I have been assembled
and can be disassembled

it is written......Do not fear what another can do as harm unto you
rather you should fear....HE...who is able to rend the soul

Whether *I* will personally exist as a unique lifeform, forever and ever - who can say?
the body produces a unique spirit on every occasion
you cannot be otherwise

but after your last breath...will eternity accept what you have become?
will eternity accept what you have done unto yourself?
or others

I view the Golden Rule as fair warning
Do unto others as you would have it done unto you

because it will be

I think it is quite simple, person must be righteous to get eternal life:

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
as you can see....I too quote scripture

but I try not to perform the effort as a recital

I am seeking the consequence

If the physical body is the soul anyone is able to destroy it rendering what is written meaningless.

Besides, as a liberal I couldn’t care less about what the ancients thought. I prefer my own ideas.

Don't believe in the concept, and anyway, the rules seem fixed to me, such that whatever we do, we are stuffed.

I don't know if "eternity" will accept what I've become. As far as I can tell, after one's last breath, the body dies and gets disposed of somehow. Some religions even seem to believe that how the body is disposed of will affect whether they're accepted by eternity. (Some religions ban cremation and/or embalming of the body.)

But what part of me, exactly, would be potentially "accepted" by eternity? It's obviously not in my body, since that's just an empty, lifeless shell at that point, and it will eventually become "dust to dust, ashes to ashes." Supposedly, the "soul" is some undetectable wisp of energy which leaves the body at the point of death, and this is apparently the unique part of "me" which will either be accepted or rejected by "eternity." That's where the whole concept gets a bit fuzzy and vague.

seems to be qualifications are required
eternity is not bestowed unto all

got any notion to what is needed?

In my opinion:

1) No one is morally perfect other than Christ, therefore, no one besides Christ could live in Heaven, where none hurt each other

2) Christ, GOD, died and rose to impart of His power/perfection to others

3) Trust Jesus, and one is made morally perfect, via Christ's power, to live in Heaven--this perfection is imparted at the Rapture

4) To live eternally in Heaven, IMHO, having trusted Jesus for salvation--He died by torture then rose to save us--I will still be "me" in Heaven but will be empowered to never sin morally again

This is what I believe.

granted.....there seems a firm connection of mind, heart and body

but the body fails

if that brings an end to mind and heart
then eternity was never a possiblity

and science would have you believe in dark energy and dark matter.....
as the GREATER portion of reality

but science can't prove it
no detection method seems to work

no chance?.....of becoming part of Something Greater

Maybe, although I've never had any scientists come knocking on my door telling me that I must believe in dark energy and dark matter - or else I'll go to Hell.

I'm not against the possibility that there might be "Something Greater," so I didn't say "no chance." I just wouldn't count on it or expect it.

So......to believe in something greater than the Cosmos !
The supreme leader of all and any other leader, called G_D.
And this G_D lives in the nothingness outside of the Cosmos.
And in this place called heaven, also lives a son named Jesus.
Outside the Cosmos.....really ?

I am, and always was, some particles in this immense Cosmos.
Thief says, and I somewhat agree, the `particles` are our spirit.
Only the destination is questionable, but the buried corpse ?

stuffed?.....as into a box?...into the ground?
into eternal darkness?

it's real btw

physically

I'm not scientific enough to know, and I doubt many scientists know either, as to what eternity is. What happens to us is just death and matter transitioning into something new in my view. Stuffed, as in whatever we do, we are defeated - ultimately. If one has no religious beliefs of course.
