The clever rabbit asked a clever question.

The mole replied with a witless answer.

How does one cope with a suspicious mind?

    The rabbit had many explanations....
But the sightless mole was left bereft...

    Of a suspicious mind.

    The rabbit pressured...
    Such a damned animal...

    The mole receded...
    Such a damned animal...

    The rabbit burrowed forth unto
The hiding place the mole was found.

    Of a suspicious mind?

The clever rabbit was soon too find
    Lost.

The humble mole was bound to show and
    accost....

    All that rabbit stood for,
    Cleverness,
    Insight,
    Truth.......

    Hope.

    The cornered mole dealt with
The rock in front of its face,
    The soil between it's claws...

    As it dug away.

    Trust me rabbit,
    As the mole spoke,
You do not wish to dig for truth
Because it will leave you digging.

    There is a suspicious mind.

    The rabbit declared a blasphemy.

The mole finds love in the dark,
    Earth riddled mound of effort
    To sustain any personal nature
For it is how one builds a fort.

A fort of solidarity of faith.

The rabbit wishes to dig for more
While the answers are being buried
By the very digging the rabbit
Has buried the truth hoped for.

edit: Strange poem from an atheist. Yet an atheist dating an astrologist.

ha, just what I was thinking while reading the poem, strange poem from an atheist, no, it was great I loved it, and lately I have been watching "the animals of farthing wood", which made it more interesting for me.:)

I agree with @psychoslice that it's not a strange poem from an atheist. Atheists in my experience believe in truth, justice beauty, harmony even love and can write poetry from that perspective.
