I certainly recognize lots of things can ne done. I am asking how the U.S. society is creating so many mass murderers.

But violent behavior is psychological, and knives are a basic and common household utility (not to mention shanks are extremely easy to produce), so "looking at access" is kinda silly. If punching becomes an epidemic, will the government force citizens to wear mittens?

Not sure how numbers effect proportion.

Keep in mind, that statistic was just for children and teens. Add in adults and that figure goes skyrocketing.

The last thing I want is acid splashed in my face, or a pipe bomb to go off. Without guns, that's just what they'll go to I think.

...But it does make people 'feel' good to know they 'tried' to solve a problem.

Compare 300 million people to 10.58 million. The odds of getting 10 shooters out of 300 million are better than out of 10.58 million.

Right, but I was thinking in terms of ratios. Like 20:1, and stuff like that.

I get it. No, I'm thinking more of odds rather than something like the men:women ratio of 2:1 in Alaska. Y'know, 2 men for every 1 woman.

Big burly bearded muscular Alaskan men.

But you need to take a test, hold a licence (which can be revoked), take eye tests and be over 17 (in my country) to drive a car. The car is licenced and has to be in good condition with annual checks.

I might be quoting the wrong place in this article but that's not how the statistical analyst sees the data. Rather that the two data sets are not reconcilable into one cohesive chart because they weren't presented in the same way.

At any rate the number seems to be going down word from when the dataset changed. In the legislation succeeded that what it was actually intending: greatly reducing incident of mass murder.

No name designated at this time.
What does it take to renew your license in your country?
    In the U.S.
Do you have to take a test. No. (I haven't checked all States but CA doesn't and if any would I would say they would).
Do you have to take a eye test? Only in certain States over a certain age in the U.S.

So, sort of negates your argument doesn't it since it appears you don't have to take a test (as far as I know ...see item above) to renew your drivers license, what says you can still safely drive a motor vehicle.

You have to take a test to get a licence. If you are clean, i.e. no infringements or medical reason then renewal is straightforward.
Yes you have to pass an eye test (basic) and a doctor can revoke your licence on medical grounds.
You need to resit test in some circumstances but the main reason you can't have a licence is because of police matters.
In your country do you have to take a test to buy a gun? Do the police have a record that you have a gun?

The object is not to stop people from getting guns. That ship has long since sailed. The object is keeping them out of the hands of the people who are most likely to abuse their right to them. And that will require regulation. Just as it requires the regulation of all dangerous technology use to try and keep the people who should not be doing so from doing so. We require training and testing to operate cars, trucks, planes, trains, ships, and even fork lifts. Yet for some bizarre reason we think that machines that were designed to do nothing but kill people as quickly and efficiently as possible should require no oversight or regulation at all. Does this make any sense to you???

What about this case where it was perfectly legal for him to buy a gun? He had mental problems that were brushed aside. Had he not had those mental problems, or if they were dealt with properly this most likely would not have happened. This tragedy is really not based on the availability of a gun. It was a failure upstream.

My point was that it is a manipulation of data and not even one that shows a staggering result.

But not because of the gun regulation. Even with the two data sets separated we still see a rise after the gun regulation.

To purchase, own, or possess a car? Or are we talking about regulation of public use?
