Worst possible ...
I think it would have to be slow but inevitable.
Being self made is also a kicker.

So, conscious AI is on the list of possible dooms, Grey Goo is very scary, triggering vacuum collapse is too fast.
But my favourite is still climate change. We know about it for 50 years now. We could have done something, maybe we still can - but won't. In a few years it will be inevitable. We will see it all crashing down on us.
