They slipped across the US border with explosives -- from Canada

"To the extent that there's an issue, it is with the Canadian border. It's a tiny, tiny, tiny issue. It's a pre-9/11 issue. And it's a non-issue on the Mexican border," says CNN national security analyst Peter Bergen. "We've tightened up everything since 9/11, and terrorists aren't going to Canada to get into the United States. And they're certainly not going into Central America or Mexico."

Border wall would do nothing to stop terrorism. And there is no national emergency.
When it comes to talking about terrorism, Bergen says, focusing on the border doesn't make sense. Every fatal terrorist attack on the United States since 9/11... was carried out by a US citizen or legal resident.

    Some thoughts.....
    - Terrorism is just one of many problems we face.
    - Solutions to other problems still have value, even if they wouldn't
    have prevented past terrorism incidents.
    - Solutions to any problem needn't be total in order to have value.
The very word, "solution", can mislead.
"Mitigation measure" would convey the proper lack of totality.
    - All who enter from Canuckistan should be shackled & close
watched....unless they're here for antique engines.

I always thought that we needed a Wall between us. Who can trust anyone that mispronounces "eh" as aaaa?

Um, there are rather large sections between Canada and the US that are not protected. It is the largest undefended border on the planet, so we should not be surprised about a 100,000 Ton Nuclear Missile being smuggled across the Great Lakes to the US. The only question of interest would be how quickly it could be done.

I wish I had an unguarded option.
Detroit-Windsor, Port Huron-Sarnia, & Buffalo-Niagara Falls are very off putting.

I've crossed by car, in both directions, at at least a dozen crossings. Never had much of an issue either way, although generally coming back to Canada has had more questions. I do prefer the single lane lonely prairie crossings.

Cars are definitely easier than a truck loaded with tools & cargo.
I've since discovered that many truckers hire brokers to ease their passage.

But a few friends have been badly harassed even in cars.
Tip: Don't look like a hippy or Iranian.
It's a good way to find one's car disassembled into a pile.
Then one is free to go...some assembly required.

It happened to us once in about 1983 coming back into Canada. Three little kids in the car, we'd all shaved our heads in California. So you're right, don't look different. When I decided to hitch across Canada in about 1970, first thing I did was get a short haircut. Cars would go past 5 or 6 'hippies', than stop and pick me up. They still use stereotypes. Fools.

No name designated at this time.
The last time we crossed into Canada (1995 or there about) they must have dwelt on the "do you have a firearm in your possession" and wouldn't take no for an answer. I bet they asked about it at lest a dozen times.
And no it happened to others we were with.
Don't know if they are still doing this or not.

Lot's of muslims in Canada. Not a peep from the right on the "open border" to the north.

This is fine. But you also have to acknowledge that when somebody tells you that the reason for the wall is to stop terrorism they are lying.

Walls only change targeting factors via a specific form of entry. The military has first hand knowledge of this.

I was addressing the OP, which doesn't obligate me to acknowledge your claims.
(Dang, you guys are so obsessed with calling Trump a liar.)
I expect every President to be dishonest when selling a policy, including Trump.
But I didn't listen to his speech, so I don't know specifically what he said.

Not just Trump, but also Pence and HuckaSanders.
