Most satanists aren't representative of most satanists. Have you noticed that on this site, no two of us ever believe the same thing? We just have common ground.

True. I have found the Study of Satanism and Luciferanism very fascinating because there are such diverse theories throughout it. My fascination actually started because I stumbled across the Joy of Satan website, and while there were many ideas that I agreed with and found interesting, I personally felt that they got too caught up in their hatred of jews and christians and their idea of all the jews/christians of the world having a big conspiracy against them. So I branched out in my studies...

Satanism can get caught up in anti-semitism as well. I've seen a lot of it. Particularly among young satanists (myself formerly one of them), young kids turn to satanism in hatred of organised religion.

I am writing this to demonstrate the direct contradiction of modern Satanic theory and the Christian heresy this individual calls "Satanism" as practiced by the hate-group, Joy of Satan.

Prior to 1966 no organized group of human beings identified themselves as Satanists. It was a word used as a derogatory by Christians to those who Christians did not like. There was no religion that called itself Satanism, no practices that were specofocally organized as Satanic---all were offshoots of Christianity---Heresy/Demonology, etc...

In 1966 Satanism was born as a codified, organized religion, complete with dogma, ritual, hierarchical clergy, and a written religious canon. The premise was that nothing was more "Satanic" to the prevailing Western religious culture than militant atheism mixed with self-divinity. Satanism accepted that humanity may have outgrown a need for external gods, but still required the dogma, ritual and fellowship found in organized religion. Thus the Church of Satan was born.

    CONVERSELY

The Joy of Satan would merely be another laughable Christian heresy were they not anti-Semitic, promoting of illegal and dangerous behaviors, and crybaby whiners of the highest order. Nothing says evil, after all, more than begging for a Home Depot boycott because some loser decided to look up devil-worshiping websites at work!!!!

The following links support my point, and yes, I wish I was making this up!

I can prove my allegations but discovered that my links would not post until I have made 15 posts! Well....., um, either PM me and I will provide links or simply check out my blog on blogger called Magistra Ygraine's Various Satanic Rants. The two pertinent articles are "Shop At Home depot and Keep a Devil Worshiper on Food Stamps!," and "The Worxt of the Worst: Joy of Satan!"

Additionally the Joy of Satan site is a treasure trove of laughable and nauseating anti-semitism, fluid exchanges, anti-family, pro-illegality, etc....The "Tips for Teens" would make any parent have a coniption, and the rest is just so...80's.

    LINKS REMOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Joy of Satan site is like some bad 80's pamphlet written by religious bigots---everything Satanists are accused of the Joy of Satan promotes! Their existence harms legitimate Satanists by association. The racism, the supporting of teens lying to and concealing things from their legal guardians, the exchanges of bodily fluids---this is unacceptable in any religion, and is contrary to genuine Satanic philosophy.

Lastly there is the victim mentality so happily embraced by Joy of Satan. Satanism is about taking personal responsibility for one's actions, secure in the knowledge there is no devil to blame, no god to thank, and no demons, hobbits, angels, goblins, or faeries in between. These *****es whine about the post office, home depot, ---everyone. They are so misunderstood and put upon and apparently "Father Satan" hasn't charged to the rescue! It is just plain embarrassing to be that lame!

The following sites are available to those interested in real Satanism, and for those wanting basic heresy and devil worship? The Holy Bible/King James is still available for free at hotel rooms across America.

REAL SATANISM CAN BE FOUND AT CHURCH OF SATAN DOT COM

i DID, HOWEVER, MAKE A MISTAKE.

This particular thread/forum was for "theistic" etc...."Satanism." As I do not acknowledge any such thing and actually find it to be a contradiction in terms, I mistakenly lectured about true (what others call "LaVeyan") Satanism here, and that was inappropriate.

I apologize for that mistake in protocol. I meant no disrespect to anyone other than the Joy of Satan person.

Well, as a direct quote from the JoS website:
The JoS website does not identify themselves as Theistic. I got annoyed by the yahoo group so I haven't looked them in quite a while to see if it sais the same thing there or not.

When I stumbeled across JoS originally, I was actually a wavering christian, which I suppose is why I found it such an interesting gateway out of christianity. I find most of it silly, but it still interests me to a point. It was ideas like this that I found compelling:

Christianity or "true chrristianity" cannot be accurately demonstrated by the individual because society has outgrown their pre-historic needs.

Christianity these days is a watered down joke where a bunch of sheep (i recognise not all christians are like this) try and cling to the morality and ideaology of the dark ages, just head to the evolution forum lol.

I have no problem with Christianity--keeps certain kinds of folks off the streets. For those who somehow lack the evolutionary comprehension to just naturally know not to kill, steal, and act like a jerk to society, Christianity teaches the basics.

I have never known any greater unconditional love than that of my Occultic 'sisters'.
(and of course my children... and they aren't christian either.)

Keep in mind, just because I find an idea compelling, doesn't mean I fully agree with it. The main reason that I have a problem with JoS is because of their pure undiluted hatred towards all Jews and Christians. I have no problem with many Christian ideals or Christians themselves; I just have a problem when certain Christian groups develop into cults that try to suppress the masses or lead modern-day witch-hunts. Of course, those kind of groups generally aren't considered Christians by other Christian groups, but they do give the whole group a bad name (I think the same thing happens in all religions. For example, some teenager into teenage rebellion decides s/he's going to do something stupid and s/he has a fascination with the devil, thereby giving Satainism a bad name because people link the two even though one has nothing to do with the other).
is a statemend I pretty well agree with. In all the christian churches I attended, any old god/goddess/person of important in any other religion or myth, was labeled as evil simply because they were complete in themselves or had their own power.
is simply an idea I find compelling, but don't really believe in.

You could also have said "in stupidity"
    1) Doesn't make sense at all. Do you believe OR know ?
    2) Sorry to have to disappoint you anti-semitic preconceptions, but monotheism isn't a Jewish invention, but Egytian in origin.
    3) I doubt you are aware. You're just having hateful fantasies of omnipotence.
    4) Bollocks. Judaism started as a tribal religion, on the simple notion, our god is good, those of our enemies are bad. Later, it developed away from that, but the gods of other religions were of course still seen as negative, thus the notion of the devil/satan etc. However, your concept of "THem against Us", is actually not different from the tribal religion view at all.
5)Bollocks again, but this time complete bollocks, and no further comment needed.

Maybe this should be made into a different thread but im going to say it anyway...
If "true" christianity is about unconditional love, how come no one i have met that is christian loves satan or even prays for his sins?

It is obvious that you follow the JoS teachings. I don't see much wrong with that, other than I disagree with a lot of it, but you are entitled to your beliefs. I don't think you should take the responsibility of representing all of us however.

It seems you are familiar with the Al-Jiwah, by your previous quote. Satan also states that we all can worship in our own way.

If I might add, I think all satanist sects have something to offer and each has some truth to what is said, but what I wanted to ask, isn't it herdish/sheepish to constantly claim that "most satanist dont follow this" "and most satanist dont follow that"? After all, one should follow their own path regardless of what the majority might believe, otherwise it becomes a popularity contest, and if the majority says the world is flat, doesn't mean I'm going to go along with the herd like a sheep. We are Satanist, not majoritarians! lol I see no problem with the minority individual following his/her own path.

    Hail Satan!

    JoS != Satanism.

Not no way, not no how.

I wouldn't even call it LHP.

Well I don't want to fall into the same trap as the CoS, and that is, they attempt to have a monopoly on the word satanism and what it means, and I disagree with them on this, I believe in competition, it allows for innovation, and doesn't allow us to get bogged down to any particular doctrine. As for JoS, its just another view point despite peoples objection to their stand against zionist jews, and I think thats the main reason some people dont like JoS, but considering the constant arab bashing on mainstream media, I hardly hear any protest against the bashing of arabs on TV, but as soon as one even questions Israel or the zionist jews, suddenly we are suppose to attack those who dare speak out against the zionist? One doesn't have to be a nazi racist to feel this way, in fact one can be anti-Israel and not be anti-jewish! If one is anti-mafia, does this make them anti-italian? If one attacks extreme islamic terrorism, does this make one anti-arab? I think not, so why cant people attack zionist terrorist jews without being accused of being anti-jewish? OK I'm going on a rant here, I'm not defending JoS, only that they are the only ones willing to bring up the truth about these parasitical zionist terrorist!

    Hail Satan!

There are a few different approaches within Satanism, and it's true that some organizations do not recognize all of these approaches as valid. But critical to the LHP is self deification. Personal empowerment, growth, what the setians describe as 'xeper' or 'becoming. Whether you do this from a purely autothesitic perspective or if you choose to invoke a deity as the source of your personal empowerment, in my opinion, is only a matter of methodology, but the path is essentially the same.

What they are doing over at JoS is something else altogether.

Don't forget the greys and the lizardmen!
