If you say so.....who am I to burst your bubble?

The truth is that we have reached a point in human history where we can look back at the past and clearly see the error of our ways......so we have no real excuse for the way we behave any more. We are not primitive uneducated barbarians. Yet here we are, still experiencing the fallout from behaviors that have gone on for thousands of years....repeated and repeated, generation after generation, because we never learn from our past mistakes.

How does that saying go.....? "The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing but expecting a different result"?

When the Bible speaks about our day, with the plagues, famine and wars....humans are out of excuses.

When has reason, education or hindsight ever curbed our innate tribalism, impulsiveness and aggression?
Our psychology evolved in the Pleistocene. It's optimized for a precarious, tribal, hunter-gatherer lifestyle. We're not wired for long term planning, multiculturism or a cosmopolitanism.

Gentility and 'civilized' behavior is a thin, unnatural veneer. We need only look to the incessant war and strife that has characterized our species since the end of the ice age to see our true nature. Religion doesn't seem to have ever been an effective deterrent.

Yes....when indeed? :( Its not like we lack intelligence......but something sure is missing in our psyche.

LOL...I love it that you say that as if "wiring" doesn't require an electrician. :D

And yet it isn't the masses who took their people into conflict....it was their Leaders. A few madmen who were appointed to leadership roles, either by birth, by conquest or by election.....I believe it shows that we are "wired" for the most part, to be "followers". No leaders can lead without followers.

I believe that God was intended to be our Leader. Imagine if we had such a Governor.....? :)

Religion is man made. There was no religion in Eden and no need for it. Religion only divides people...and has done since we can remember. Perhaps it needs to go.....would it surprise you to know that the Bible predicts the end of religion? God doesn't like it either....

    Maybe a neurologist or psychologist?
Yes. The leaders exploited the intense small-group tribalism and solidarity to craft a cohesive fighting machine. Without this Pleistocene tribalism, building an army would be like herding cats.
The "leaders" were rarely madmen. Perhaps more driven or narcissistic than most, certainly more authoritarian, but not off the scale.
What an odd belief. There's never been any evidence that the mass of people paid any attention to Jesus' admonition to love one another, return good for evil or do unto others...
And governors who did promote God's word often led us into religious and civil wars, or divisive sectarianism.
Fine with me -- but I'm not holding my breath.

Neurolectrician? Psycholectrician? maybe....? But the wiring is there from the beginning.....it might require 'fixing' though.

    Nice word picture....herding cats....

Many leaders start off well, but as we all know "power corrupts".....if they are not madmen when they start, they usually finish up that way.

Yep...it was foretold and expected.....no surprise.

No need to hold your breath. It will happen but we just don't know when....I think you'll know when it does.
