The World Tree

Took a trip through the rainforest and out to the beach today, just so that I could spy a glimpse of the World Tree aka the Kalaloch Tree of Life.

And here she is in all her splendor:

The tree itself is a Sitka Spruce, and despite her look, it is still alive.

These guys are at the Grove of the Patriarchs, and are around 4 stories tall, and probably nearing 1000 years old.
