I'm so glad that Sydney speaks for all of us...and perhaps if the mainstream churches got their heads out of their bums they wouldn't be facing a massive drop in numbers.

And Jesus said to Peter; "Get thee behind me Satan!"

Satan as well as God is in ALL of us. He especially likes tracts which are full of venom and hate and that promote mistrust and condescension among the peoples of the earth.

God is LOVE... he promotes LOVE.

Anything that promotes HATE of others is of the debil! Using this SIMPLE device it becomes real obvious who is controlling whom!

Let's go over this again...

Love = Truth
Hate (bigotry, condescension, intolerance, bias, impatience, and the like) = Lies

God may have created it, but this does not mean he is the ruler of it. Are you saying that God is the ruler of Australia? No, our prime minister is: John Howard. Unfortunatly
HE decides what is ruled and how it is ruled.

He just gets his ideas from the US.:tsk:

Well, he probably ofered him a bridge in Arizona, and has an uncle who passed away in Zimababwe worth tens of millions if only we could figure a way to get it out of the country. For a couple of grand in fees, I could probably help you to help me and we can split it.

Liars can offer ANYTHING. They can't deliver a thing, but they sure can promise out the wazoo! Satan is the Father of lies. Go figure!

They weren't really available commercially until the 90s...at least, that's when I remember them starting from. We had bunnies when I was growing up, and the bilbies are still in the minority at Easter. :p

and THIS scripture, of which I am in danger of wearing out:

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. NIV

That particular scripture was directed towards Christians in Paul's time who didn't celebrate Easter, New Years, Christmas, Halloween, etc. So 'religious celebration' was a reference to the festivals to God they had like those of the Mosaic Law.

(Romans 10:4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

t3gah...so in your opinion all types of celebrated holidays that we celebrate here in the U.S. are Pagan? How do you describe what a year Should bring then in celebrations...none? Christians really don't think along the lines of Paganism...they have used the holidays to celebrate God...they hold Him dear to their hearts...I really don't understand why you feel we should oust all the holidays we have adopted as our own for the idea of worship to God. Customs of the old testament were changed in the new testament...so why should we not have customs for our day in respect to the Lord?

When we go to sunrise survices we don't have a hidden agenda in our hearts to worship some sun god...our hearts are of the purness of Christ and not intended for whatever else the day had in mind by some prior culture. He is risen...so we celebrate the fact of His resurection...I don't think when God looks on our hearts He will see we have ill intent but see that we worship Him in our celebrations even though they may not be of some old writings in biblical times. I just don't see where the harm is when our hearts are with Christ in the things we do...aren't we to glorify Christ in our actions?

The only celebrations in the New Testament are observing the Messiah's death by partaking of the wine and unleavened bread on Nisan 14, not April 14 since the scriptures penned were going on the Hebrew calendar and not the Gregorian calendar which is what the Western world is using. A celebration I might add that all people who are Christian are supposed to be observing one time a year, not just the "anointed" that the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society say should be doing it. They, WB&TS, mistakenly think that because only the apostles were present and that they were anointed, only anointed people should partake of the Lord's Evening Meal or the Lord's Supper as it's also known by. Matthew penned that the apostles teach 'all things' Jesus commanded them to do to the disciples. The other celebration is a wedding feast where Jesus turned the water into wine.

And so with the death of the Messiah (Jesus), the Passover celebration and the festival particulars was made null and void.

Since we Christians are supposed to be going by what the scriptures say as to what to celebrate and only a wedding feast and the memorial of Christ's death are listed, that's the way we glorify God. Follow the scriptures which was inspired by God and not man-made celebrations created after it was penned. The scriptures deliberately don't have the Messiah's birth date. False Christians threatened people with death and then killed them for not celebrating Christ Mass when it was instituted so the "holiday" is pagan and not a Christian holiday. Christian being followers of Christ. Jesus said the commandment about killing in Luke 18:18-20. As soon as those who instituted Christ Mass killed people and threatened them with death they ceased being Christian.

As for 'sunrise services' there's a scripture that says not to learn as the pagan nations do in the Old Testament. And since 'sunrise' is for the Sun and not God's Son and it's origin was pagan, the scripture in Leviticus 20:23 says not to walk after the statutes of the nations. Which means don't learn their celebrations, etc.

And for a more detailed look into 'sunrise services' you can take a look at the book, "Curiosities of Popular Customs". It tells about the origin and corelation of the sunrise services as compared to the resurrection celebration which is supposed to be only the Lord's Supper.

WHERE does it say that? You are extrpolating the scriptures when you do this. The scriptures never mention owning a chuch building, or air conditioning as well. Are you condemning this practice too? IOW, anything that you don't fully accept is "of the debble"??? The scriptures never "authorize" a song leader... do you use one?

No the sriptures never forbade Easter celebrations... YOU DID. In fact, the scriptures are telling me to tell you to jump in a lake when you go to pass judgment on my religious festival. Ya just gotta love scripture, eh?

2 Corinthians 6:14
Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:15
What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?

2 Corinthians 6:16
What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

2 Corinthians 6:17
Therefore, "'Come out from among them, And be separate,' says the Lord, 'Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.

Great scripture, but your point is still obscure. Try combing your hair a bit differently to see if that will make it stand out. Your point, that is. :D

It's ironic to think that with this veritable cornucopia of scriptures that you have still yet to make a relevant point.

What has this to do with celebrating Easter? Jesus IS God to the Christian.

Throwing up scads of scripture without thought is pseudo-spiritual at best, and intellectually dishonest at worst. But then your whole shtick has been one of deception and arrogance.

Sorry t2gah...You still don't understand the fact that when we have a sunrise service it means held proir to the sun coming up not meaning to worship it's rising...the service itself is from our hearts to God's ear.I think you are trying too hard to make all that we as christians hold as our religious acts for God as sin...God knows our hearts...He knows we aren't in contempt of Him. The act of sinning is when one deliberatly does something we see as wrong against God. There is no justification in your attempt to do anything other than point to Pagan custom which isn't what we are speaking about . We sing ...(a joyful noise unto the Lord)...we dwell on scriptures ...We pray....(pray without ceasing) ....then we go home. It's called a church service!:bonk: Don't make light of something that is by all means for us our LOVING OUR LORD!!! :jam: The scriptures says judge not lest yea be judged...be careful my friend:tsk: ...you are real close to the line of judging! If God judges by your accounts ....well, we all don't stand a chance.
